More Americans now believe that at least marijuana should be decriminalized than believe it should be illegal. Two states have already completely legalized it.

History and current events show that we'll get the votes.

pot =/= drugs in the context that Adam the coward was in possession of shrooms and he's who this thread was about.

As for pot, personally I'm okay with legalizing it

I wouldn't pretend that they uphold the letter and spirit of the Constitution all the time, either.

Oh, they certainly do, at least as they see fit. Cracks me up when they make a ruling someone disagrees with and that someone starts screaming that they are misusing the COTUS. LOL

I'll concede "as they see fit", but that's it. The reason we have a multi-level judiciary is because judges don't always uphold the Constitution. Unfortunately, there's little that can be done if the members of the Supreme Court fail to uphold the COTUS themselves.

I think you're unfairly besmirching the Court. I think that people who reach that high honor by and large have the integrity to put the COTUS ahead of their own beliefs.

Now if they were politicians instead of appointees, then all bets would be off.

    But they are, essentially, politicians.

I can think of one justice right off the top of my head who thinks he's a member of the House of Representatives. ;)

Of course you can't. You have no idea what you're talking about, like most prohibitionists.

Your inability to answer it does not make it a tough question. It demonstrates your ignorance of the chemistry and biology of drugs.

What you call "behaving like a child" will be interpreted by reasonable people as decimating your argument with logic and evidence.

Yes, he is. Are you disagreeing?

Nobody needs to be "in charge" of the SCOTUS. They are nine individuals who give rulings as to whether or not stuff is constitutional.

Um yeah, I'm going to go ahead and argue that a person who rose to the position of Justice on the Supreme Court is NOT an idiot.

Also, of course someone has to be in charge to set agendas, manage personality conflicts, you know management type stuff.

Everyone on the planet is an idiot in at least some respect. Being on the Supreme Court does not turn one into a lofty god.

Further, there's nothing impressive about "rising" to the position of the Supreme Court. All it takes is to make friends with a President and woo Congress.

All of which can be handled via law.
