I see what he said, pretty clearly

Should this have any impact on the current situation?

Should people that hate what obama did with obamacare like Newt Gangrich be using this footage to uproot Obama, if he even remotely tries to attack syria?

Is America for sale, even to the president? (why does our president have to sell the syrian bombing to 'we the people'?)

No, it should not have any impact on current situation. Biden clearly spoke of Republican president; this does not apply to the Nobel Peace Prize Recipient Obama, who knows what he's doing.

War Powers Act of 1973 Presidents have ignored since it's inception. The vague nature in the Constitution of the Right to Declare War leaves open ended it's intent. Specifically, its the Commander-In-Chief's job to execute foreign policy, but Congress' right to Declare War to the people. Remember, the Constitution was passed without the internet & 24 hour news. The irony is it was the Teddy Kennedy led Democrats that passed the 1973 War Powers Act after Nixon went into Cambodia, looking to force future President's to get Congressional Approval. In every case where efforts have galvanized to hear the merits of the War Powers Act before the Supreme Court, it's been shot down. The Court won't rule in, in essence allowing the Commander-in-Chief to hold the right to execute War.

If he says that, then that means he either gained some common sense, or his gaffes are getting worse.

What i was wondering, is if Biden will be as tough on Obama? Then if Newt was on his game, you'd think he would be using this.

As for me, I personally think that we have never had a president more capable of saying 'No' and not attacking, and man up to taking the heat for errors, than Obama. I think he could take it.

i am on that side of the argument.

I'll say this for the policy move of turning Syria into a crater: It will certainly take the focus off of the fact that the constitution is being shredded a little more each day for a while.

We're loosing our credibility with our Allies. The element of 'Walk Quietly & Carry a Big Stick' has proven valuable for America for the past 60 years. 100,000 people have been killed in this Civil War. We can either jump in on the insurgents side & provide a 'Game Change', or allow Assad to continue his push North toward Aleppo & consolidate power. It's really a moment when we must prove between two less than ideal actors. I'd take the Sunni Islamists over an iranian ally in the region. That's my point of view. Deal with the power vacuum, let the Saudi & Qatar money fill the void of the transition government the Syrian Opposition National Coalition & play that route.

Only thing that keeps Syria together is the military. Regime have created reality that isn't very easy transcendent. Underneath is a fragmented society with many divisions & military holds it together. Family in power for 43 Years, a Cold War Era regime.

Very few tyrannies hated by everyone. Simplistic Model of Assad completely isolated besides Army. Don't have Army unless you have social control and social support in system. Expectation of imminent collapse, fails to understand level of support Assad enjoys. Someone from outside has to come in, organization opposition, train & arm opposition.

More than Bi-Polar Sunni-Shia Split. Complexity is one of the things that holds it together.

That being said, the Sunnis will take power & can be bought through the transition phase.

You have a very optimistic and naive viewpoint. The Muslim Brotherhood has caused great chaos throughout Egypt, they left 4 Americans dead including Mr.Stevens in Libya and above all, need we forget that they dragged us into this war with 2,000 deaths!

I'd much rather the Syrian Government be ran by Assad, than radical extremist threats.

first off, i don't understand what "writing gun laws into policy" means or how a vice president could do it... second, in all the possible ways that phrase can be construed, it doesn't adress the point I made in any way... I have no idea how you jumped from Syria to gun control.

Yeah, a ménage au trois with Assad as Happy Pierre seemed likely, but now being brutally sodomized prison style is his only option. Maybe he should wear deodorant?

Why would I google Biden and gun control when the topic is whether Obama should be impeached over tomahawking Damascus to dust without international approval? The entire response was a total non sequitur that made no sense. "write laws into policy?" I still can't decipher what that means, so I can't comment on it. Did he write a couple laws that were passed through a congress that wouldn't pass gun control laws if they were staring down the barrell of an AK-47, then were signed by the president? Did he craft some executive orders that Obama passed on to the DoJ? None of that even matters because none of it will stick. Gun control advocates had an elementary school full of dead children and they couldn't pull it off. Syria's a bit more important anyway, and on that note, launching an attack is a pragmatic decision, even though I don't agree with it. It kills a whole flock of birds with one stone: It distracts from the economy, the invasions of privacy, the unconstitutional FISA court, the drone wars, their innability to lock down Snowden or keep him from releasing the pentagon's black budget, and has the added bonus of being able to kill people on both sides of the conflict, niether of which are allies while showing support for Israel, sticking it to Russia and Iran and cutting off the last remaining non-allied border between Africa's natural resources and China via the Mddle East or the Mediterranean. I knew when this whole sabre ratlling episode started and Obama started talking about Red Lines that this was inevitable. It's been in the works for quite a while. If Iran gets into the mix, then the US will finally have the excuse it needs to set them on fire from the sky too.

Anyway, casually back to the topic: The UN inspectors have just been pulled out and are on the plane back home.:clapping:

They were supposed to be there another half a day, but got jerked out of there.

This made me laugh. Although the Republicans haven't given us anyone worth voting for in awhile, saying Obama will "man up" for anything that will bring him any kind of criticism is laughable. He always tries to shmooze his way past his mistakes and always has an alibi or tries to turn it around on his opponents. He's quite the opposite of what you're saying he is in fact.

Maybe you're being sarcastic, but it didn't read like it.

I thought that's what I did with my last post. Do you not agree?

although I guess I should have added "impeachment or not" after "inevitable," but I think the repub leadership is giving him a free pass since they got away with the Dubya debacle.

You read too much crapaganda. Tell me how we lost anything. Was America in ruins and burned back to the stone age after Vietnam? What did they win, exactly? How did Iraq defeat the US? Their country is in ruins and we have butterflies and sunshine.

What part of the US is under Afghani occupation?
