Why Does the West Want to Phase itself out?

Someone on this forum offered up a speculative but interesting point. He wondered if it's some weird Darwinian trick that when one civilization gets too powerful, they self-destruct to keep the species intact.

For example, the West has been dominant for a long time now. You can argue about the virtues and vices of our culture but overall we've spearheaded the progress the world has seen over the past centuries. Yes, Islam had their time and I'm not writing this to be ethnocentric (same for China). Instead, I want to know what your thoughts are on the West's possible decline.

Through political correctness, an obsession with cultural diversity, a lack of pride in the West's accomplishments, and a general disdain for individual success, the West has slowly been losing its status. This situation is best highlighted by Europe, which as we all know will go down in history as a classic example of a civilization that just got too content. What's worse, their disease is spreading here through liberals at a remarkable pace.

Now, I'm not inclined to say America is lost like Europe. Many economists still predict that the next century might be named "The American Century" because we'll be able to hold onto our hegemony. Feel free to debate this if you want, but I'm inclined to say the pattern of the West's self-destructive actions needs to be stopped.

 

It's called the inevitable downfall of a state. A state under democracy has proven to be one of the fastest decaying forms of this terrible idea.

 

I'm not saying "the West is supposed to continue to lead into eternity." I am questioning why (if?) it's happening now?

Evidence of what? All of the western democracies under a pile of central banking debt? That evidence is thrown in your face every day.

 

Show me this decay in democracy. How many mature democracies in the last hundred years have moved to other forms of government

 

Democracy is very young and does appear to be decaying the west, compared to the short-lived American republic, and the long-lived Monarchies in Europe. But in my opinion, this is a good thing for the future, maybe not for people living now.

Democracy is a horrible idea, that's why the elitists running your governments are so eager to spread it, through bombs mostly.

 

There are several reasons why the west is starting to stumble. The proliferation of illegal immigration, Political correctness and socialism are the main culprits.

Put a timeline up with three data point indicating when these three plagues began to gain traction in the USA and you will see they coincide nicely with the degradation of the Greatest country this world has ever seen.

Cure these three diseases and the US will flourish one again.
