Agreed. Time to let the NoCal whiners off on their own without the tax support from the SoCal eonomic engine.

I'd luv to see NorCal fund itself off tax revenues from SanFran alone...heheh.

seems to be a trend forming throughout the US...seems some folks are becoming disenfranchised with the elected liberal leadership in their states....

Gathering other northern counties is not the major issue. Getting the United States to let them do it, and create a 51st state is.

Not going to happen, thus making this nothing more than grandstanding.

No way. NO Californians could EVER be as nice, polite, and down to Earth as are most Mississippians...not to mention, in Mississsippi, white folks and black folks live next to each other, and have for DECADES....UNLIKE Californians, especially Marin County.

Californians "talk" big integration talk, but are not ready to ACTUALLY DO SO, themselves.

And, as far as TAX REVENUES; like most Leftists, you have it COMPLETELY BACKWARDS:

Counties Creating Least Revenue Use Most Services

Marin County is the largest tax generator per capita, followed by San Mateo and San Francisco.

What "SoCal economic engine"? The North has the Silicon Valley engine. We have unemployed illegal aliens soaking up taxpayer benefits here in So Cal.

FYI, Silicon Valley is in San Jose, that is south of San Francisco.

I don't see this happening at all...Isn't Colorado and Oklahoma trying to do the same thing? If it did happen I'd prefer to move up north. No offense to So Cal, but I prefer the weather and the attitude up north...

While I applaud their initiative, and that they care, this is going nowhere.

LOL, you claimed this northern CA separation, that they would take Silicon Valley. It is clear you did not know the geography.

Never happen....they've been trying to form the state of Jefferson for over 100 years up there.

It would be a stupid thing to do, and those rednecks who live up there trying to make this happen are a bunch of mal adjusted ex hippies or bikers who would be lost on their own. They'd be snowed in 4 months of the year with no way to get out because the snow removal equipment is run by the state.

He's from southern California, and apperently doesn't have the geography figured out. Plus...Silicon Valley types are total liberals, and people up in the nether regions of deepest darkest northern Cal fled the Bay Area after San Francisco and San Jose got crazy expensive

LOL, let alone that Silicon Valley would want any part of their new state.

The capital of the new state would be Yreka. Which would make Rhode Island look like New York City by comparison.

    Doesn't matter...won't happen anyway..

It would not have included Silicon Valley either.
I don't a map, I have been there, Sunnyvale, stayed in Saratoga. Grew up in CT.

I didn't say it did. Alfalfa was making a comment about how Northern California as a whole would fail without the "SoCal economic engine". I responded to that. Neither he or I made any mention of the specific county that is planning to separate (otherwise, why else would he bring up San Francisco?). Your response implied that you believe the Silicon Valley area is south of San Franscisco and is therefore not part of Northern California. It also implies that you believed San Francisco would be part of this separation. Completely wrong.

I'd probably do the same thing if I tried to have geographic discussions about places in Maryland I've never been to, or had a poor understand of.

Bikers and hippies. I don't think we have as many as So. Cal.
I'd much rather live with the hicks in the sticks and snow. Only wussy city boys are afraid of snow. I get around just fine in it. Sure beats living in an over populated dessert without water. If all utilities were shut down including water we would survive, how about you? We have food and water you have smog.

I don't live in southern Cal. And we have plenty of snow, and snow plows all along highway 50 and 80...mainly because we're not stupid enough to pass up all those southern Cal tax dollars that pour into our area. And you may get around just fine up there when it snows, but you're still getting around to nowhere. Don't get me wrong, the Siskyous are great, and I have great freinds up there, but some of those Eureka, Humbolt, and Crescent City weirdos are just scary. All inbred looking, and is wearing a worn out John Deere cap and having a big greasy beer gut hanging out a requirement? It's the beer gut anti social crows that wants the split, not the normal people up there

"wussy city boys"?....who are you? Wilford Brimley

Furthermore...even during the regular droughts the central valley has no trouble producing enough food for ourselves....and why am I even talking about this?....if having all your utilities shut down is a possibility, you're probably better off up there

I was offended by your post because I took it as though you were talking about Nor. Cal in general not just that county. I personally don't know much about that particular county.
