Listen to Hapless Harry say it out loud. How could they do that to sick kids? The republicans offered a no strings attached bill to fund the NHS and get the kids the cancer treatment they need, Obama Beid and the Democrats said NO! To make it worse if that's possible Reid compared Kids with cancer to out of work Air Force personnel. "I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own". Reid and the Democrats would sacrifice kids with Cancer for a political ideology. I am truly ashamed of my Government.

Yes conservative morals & scruples ... let's play tea party jihadist negotiation and determine which ones can die or pay bills as *essential* to govt.

Coming from someone(purportedly) living in Alabama, that's rich. Are you trying to cut your nose to spite your face?

Red States suck-off all others ... why do you think the tea party redrew districts to 99% wealthy-white conservatives ?

I'd love to see the entire press conference. That vid cuts off rather expectantly.

It's pretty clear that Harry Reid is simply stating that the Democrats are not going to let the GOP pick and choose what parts of government they want back up and running.

I hope they stick to the line that has been drawn.

This is simply not true! They lost their minds over Obamas son based on skin shade Trayvon Martin and he was just a child!!

Yea..that's why they are so adamant about making sure they are fed, clothed and have medical care, cause they don't care.

This goes to show just how sacred ObamaCare is to the anarchists who passed that boondoggle.

Ironically, they don't want to help a kid with cancer so they can keep ramming their precious healthcare law down our throats.

Nah, Obamacare isn't really about power and control...

If it were up to republicans that kids would already be dead........

Listen to the conservatives act like they care about this kid. Take the shutdown out of the picture and the republicans would be calling the kid a damned leach, sucking off the taxpayers when he should be dying.

You didn't answer the question, Alabama *is* a Red State, you live in that said Red State. Would you be fine with Alabama collapsing so that your political agenda can move forward? If not, then it's hypocritical to blast the Red States while living in one and then mooching off of the very same benefits you deride them for having access to.

Maybe you didn't read, the Republicans have offered to fund the NHS with no strings attached, why would Harry and the Democrats not accept that and let children suffer?

You know, I respect you, Peabody. It takes balls to do what you just did. Like, a lot of balls. It's one thing to bluff and say "I have an ace". It's another thing to make that bluff, then show off your hand that clearly does not have an ace and expect everyone to take you seriously anyways. Which is what you're doing here. More specifically, you're taking a quote out of context, claiming the person in question says something, then showing the quote in correct context. That's like saying that MIECHV allows for home invasion and then linking to MIECHV showing beyond reasonable doubt that it in fact does not Mod edit: Do not circumvent the profanity filter. What Reid is saying is quite clearly that the republicans do not get to mix and match which parts of government they want to allow to continue; they are to pass an actual budget resolution. I'm kinda sad that you're serious, but hey - at this point, I expect honesty from republicans the same way I expect sanity from Tommy Wiseau.

Please, I don't believe ya do. I really don't care either.

Harry Reid said what he said, I didn't make him say it and I provided video of him doing so. If you have a problem with what Harry said, I suggest you eMail him and tell him so. But, please don't pretend it's my fault he said it and it is somehow out of context. I can't help it your Democrat leaders should be in nursing homes playing checkers, I didn't vote them in office ya'all did. I will make political hay of anything and everything stupid Democrats or Neocons say. Unlike a lot of posters here I don't pretend to be some kind of Independent or Moderate that leans one way or the other trying to hide it. I am a hard right wing conservative and couldn't give a damn who knows it, likes it or even cares. I think Harry Reid, Nana Pelosi, McConnell and McCain are senile old coots who should have retired years ago to some nursing home where they can debate over the different brands of Polident. I don't want to sound too rude, but I don't pay any attention to what you post and if I annoy you that bad, I suggest you put me on ignore so your PF experience will be a pleasant one.

Wanna know something about a person's basic character?

I'd bet Mitt Romney isn't getting the least bit of personal satisfaction out of Harry Reid's suffering a similar case of misspeak as Mitt had when he referred to the 47% during the 2012 campaign.

    1) there's always strings attached and 2) the Republicans are being a bit like the Ayatollah offering to release ONE hostage. Is he all of a sudden a hero?

How would I be hurt by the idiocy you seem to encompass?

Your interpretation of what was said is blatantly intended to debase your opposition based on ignorant misunderstanding and failure to use context.

    Basically.....A very poor troll.

And you know what? Steven Jay Gould, one of the foremost evolutionary biologists of the past century, said, and I quote:

...Which creationists have been spinning for literally decades into this bizarre inference that Gould is admitting some big secret about evolution. But in context, the cards are completely different. However, no creationist would be ballsy enough to quote the full passage. Why? Because they knew it was bull(*)(*)(*)(*). So you either have a sack that you could use as a hippity-hop, or you lack the basic understanding of a creationist to know that when claiming that someone is saying something that they evidently are not saying, you shouldn't quote the full context. It's like quoting "you didn't build that" like this:
Obama said:

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business—you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."
And this quote, like "you didn't build that" or "the extreme rarity of transitional forms", completely loses its thrust when you look at it in the context given.

I have absolutely no problem with what he said. Hell, my signature (up until literally nobody understood it) was me saying that Hitler was right in an attempt to make people aware that context is a thing that matters. If he had just said "Why would we want to help one kid with cancer", as you imply, then yes, I would have a problem with it. But you know what? He doesn't say that. Instead, what he says is:
No, seriously. How the hell do you look at that exchange and take "Harry Reid doesn't understand why we should help a kid with cancer" from it? As stated, your balls are either the size of watermelons, or they have replaced your brain.

    It shows. Trust me.
