You might want to tell that to Michelle Obama, who isn't even a politician, because she might be interested to hear that the right doesn't target ancillary characters. Michelle O. doesn't do much more politically than Palin does, their roles are both to be talking heads since they don't actually hold any office, yet she has been targeted with the same hate and derision as Palin has. Just ask SmartMouthWoman here, she goes around the corner when the topic of Michelle Obama comes up.

I can't say I "liked" her because I don't tend to like Republicans by default. But, I didn't know anything about her when McCain picked her in 2008. My low opinion of her was formed by hearing her speak, both in interviews and in the rallies. I didn't care one bit about her "real Americans" crap and after having 8 years of Bush, I couldn't' bear the thought of having what is basically a female George W. Bush in the White House again. I even liked McCain for a while, I had planned on voting for him in 2000 before Bush tabloid'ed him out of the primary race. Still liked him in 2008 because he was a moderate who more often than not seemed willing to compromise and work across the isle to get things done. But, then he did the typical Republican presidential candidate swing to the right and after he picked Palin, there was simply no way I could ever vote for him. McCain is much better suited for a Congressional role where he doesn't have to placate hard righties. Palin is much better suited to never come near a political office again.

Michelle is super political, not sure what you are talking about. She campaigned hard for her husband here in Florida at least, used racial messages on radio ads and interjected herself in more then a few issues. She also had a shady job paid off with taxpayer kickback money - Chicago style. She is as bright politically as Obama, even slicker and Hilary ought to watch out for her. Michelle would wipe the floor with her in a democrat primary. It would be over faster then in 2008.

    What higher standard? Specifically?

Trump is not the entire right wing, nor is he a member of the tea party. Conspiracy theorists are always in America. You have Truthers who think bush destroyed the twin towers for a war for oil, (you have oilers too), that we had an embargo on that he could have lifted. Some of these people on your side are elected leaders.

They thought he was another Jay Z who sang about selling crack and killing people and (*)(*)(*)(*)ing them hoe (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)es. They don't listen to common and assumed. Big deal. Old people will complain about rap, and metal and punk rock music and whatever comes next.

Nonsense how many hitler bushes do I need to remind you of? The Republican Party leadership, (not a few random internet people), has shown him the decor you would hope the first black man to seek the presidency would receive. Never once have they derided him on race. His policies sure suck though. Where is the guy from 08? Surely you don't even recognize him. Your elected official Grayson and his KKK letter or Harry Reid's speech don't count though? Only slyguy657 ?

yes they attacked palin mercilessly day and night. And then made hick jokes.

Yes they attack Bachman mercilessly all the time. I am not sure where you are going with this.

Project much? Why do you think black Americans are not as capable of whites when it comes to bringing their ID card to vote? Why do democrats think that? Why is that the official party position? Don't dodge lefty. Walk me through the paternalism.

You do the same thing to the republicans all the time. Welcome to the game. Don't be hurt. This was just one post. Try it every day of every year the hateful left has nothing better to do then throw the "hate the poor hate women hate minorities" etc.. When It is our towns that minorities do best in and you have all of the worst from the founding without exception. It is we who got women's suffrage and elected the first woman to congress before women got the right to vote. It is we who treat them as equals today. The poor? We give more charity and you give more failed social programs that you can't even bother addressing.

The democrats have waged war against the poor, the middle class, families, women, minorities, property owners, the unborn, and the union itself and project this on to republicans who have never done any of these things as official party platform.

But I guess some dude on twitter who is a racist has something to say about the president so you can feel self righteous about his failures an the long history of division caused by the populist democrat party.

I don't "hate" her. Just think that she is given a platform given her abysmal record is sad. She quit in the face of adversity, yet calls Republicans who opposed the ill advised partial shutdown to be cowards. I've been a Republican my whole life. Not one of those "lifelong"types who says they are,but now are liberals. No,I'm a Republican, just one that is tired of her,and the other talking heads screwing up elections and in it just for their own enrichment. That goes likewise for the Jim DeMint's,who has ruined the Heritage Foundation,as well as talkers like Mark Levin.

I respect Sarah Palin for what she 'stands for:'

    1) Rugged individualist, but still a traditional wife & mother, who can kill, cook, and feed her family.

    2) Has traditional Christian values which are what built this country, starting with the founding Fathers

    3) Promotes the USA and doesnt make excuses for the success and good intentions of this country

But....I do have a hard time listening to her 'halting' speech and often she comes across as naive but with good intention.

I did and frankly I thought she would make a good pick. Her press was good, she was personable and frankly I thought she would play a Dan Quayle role in both the campaign and the White House. (If you recall Dan Quayle was dealt some of the same issues because he was seen as not too bright but he knew his role). Palin decided it was her campaign and McCain was just there for show. She didn't know much about world affairs and was not interested in learning. Her Alaska credibility started to fall away when it was learned that she may have done things if not corrupt a little dicey. Of course her dealings with some fanatical Christian groups didn't help and her ability to be a hero to the worst of the party at the time enraged not only the left but the center of the party. There was talk of dumping her from the ticket in late September. Alaska Republican leaders were saying she wasn't even Governor material let alone Presidential but at first we took that as sour grapes as she battled with the corrupt GOP of Alaska but it soon became clear that she had the media addiction of Madonna and the intellectual acumen of Pee Wee Herman.

I still don't think she understands the way the country works politically and I think she is dangerous for the future of the country.

We agree :) youre not going to get any argument from me on your post. They didnt call her Sarah Barracuda for nothing, she was most likely and overbearing obnoxious person most of her life. She appears to believe that getting in someones face and screaming what she believes will somehow endear those that arent as nuts as she is to her. Shes obviously wrong and shes obviously politically a non issue anymore, no one is going to make her their vp pick and that includes her bestus buddy Ted Cruz

    You won't.

    You can't.

So wouldn't you be the liar?

Politics is also about gender. Despite that, she might be the reason why republicans lost to Obama in 2008.

That shows how ignorant you are about me. I was a republican over 4 decades and I love John McCain, hes given more to this country than any of the spoiled never had a bad day soft ass 45 and under teaparty ***** ever had or ever will.
Ive never been the kind of guy that drooled over gogo girls and strippers and gave them lots of tips hoping to get a whiff of their perfume. I was a hands on kind of guy that liked and respected women and was able to find close companionship and enjoy two way relationships. You can have palin I dont now and never have wanted her, she'd be perfect for a porn movie with Ted Cruz only she would be behind him whispering sweet nothings in his ear. :)
Now im a "TRUE" independent, Ill vote for a republican, ill vote for a Democrat Ill vote for an independent if I think they are the best for america and I will support conservatives and liberals when I think they are right. Ill leave all the mindless party line followers to keep running into the wall.

If you believe that gotcha questions and honest replies to those questions are wrong then you've got a big problem. Especially the quoted fact that Russia is visible from the shoes of America. If you can remember, Russia was purchased from Russia in the 19th Century. I believe it was called Seward's Folly.

Yes. Russia and Alaska are divided by the Bering Strait, which is about 55 miles at its narrowest point. In the middle of the Bering Strait are two small, sparsely populated islands: Big Diomede, which sits in Russian territory, and Little Diomede, which is part of the United States. At their closest, these two islands are a little less than two and a half miles apart, which means that, on a clear day, you can definitely see one from the other. The Diomede Islands are often blanketed by persistent fog, which makes visibility difficult. On a clear day, though, a person standing at sea level can see a little less than three miles across the ocean. You can see farther if you go higher—at the highest altitude on Little Diomede (919 feet), you can see for about 37 miles. (Between mid-December and mid-June, when the water between the two islands freezes, an intrepid explorer can just walk from one to the other.)

So Palin wasn't lying when she made that statement. The bulk of the statements she did make were logical.

Will you vote for more taxes?

Will you vote for more free stuff for moochers?

Will you vote for more regulations and less private sector jobs?

Will you vote for a party that leaves aircraft carriers tied to a pier because the government controlled by that party diverts resources it would take to refuel those aircraft carriers into free stuff for moochers?

Will you vote for a party that neglects the best ground fighting force the world has ever seen into one with just two battle-ready brigades?

Just trying to get a handle on the mind of a "true independent."

Ill be long gone before all thats left around here is me and Palin and I got a feeling after all her kids she may not look like you fantasize about every night nekkid and without makeup and a makeup person assuring all her flaws dont show for camera. Anyway good luck in your pursuit of sarah and damn that might be a title for a book. The Pursuit of Sarah in Overdrive. :)

Thanks for proving my point? You feel a need to go after someone who represents the most stupidity in the conservative party. I get it, it makes you feel good about the party you align with; the democratic party that appeals to the masses of the least successful in our society. Can you bahhhh for me? Or better yet bahhhh for John Stewart, he finds it very easy to manipulate you lol

I mean really who all is laughing at her? The welfare queens? The college art students? The people who need government to support them b/c they can't support themselves? I think the joke's on you buddy

Funny, I see no spelling errors in your post..

And funny how they beat up on Palin (an unelected citizen) yet they never talk about Nancy, Harry, Debbie, or Allan (all elected US officials) when it comes to incompetence and silliness!
