The Global Impact of the Obamacare Lie

During his visit to Israel last spring, his first as president, Mr. Obama assured the worried Israelis that his administration "had Israel's back." President Obama descended to street gang talk to demonstrate his willingness to help our embattled Mideast ally.

He then proceeded to arm-twist Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Mr. Obama pressured Netanyahu to apologize to Turkey's ruler, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Israel commandos had intercepted a Turkish vessel bound for Gaza. The "peaceful" blockade-runners attacked the Israeli commandos with clubs. The Turks were bringing supplies to the terrorist Hamas group that rules Gaza. The Israeli soldiers responded to these attackers with deadly force, killing nine of the blockade-runners. Israel was condemned in the UN and around the world for this act of self-defense.

President Obama has called the Islamist Turkish leader, Erdogan, his "best friend" in the Mideast. Erdogan has been steadily crushing democracy in Turkey, moving this NATO ally further and further away from its Western orientation. Erdogan is thought to have blown the cover of Israeli operatives in Iran, leading to their deaths. Those Israeli agents were one of the best, perhaps only, means of monitoring what Iran's mullahs were actually doing with their nuclear weapons program.

Now, the Israelis are closely watching what President Obama is doing domestically with ObamaCare. This week's firestorm over millions of Americans having their health insurance policies cancelled -- a direct result of the health care takeover rammed through Congress in 2010 -- is reverberating around the world.

This should not surprise us. America is still the leading nation in the world. And what happens here has worldwide implications. In 1981, for example, President Ronald Reagan fired the professional air traffic controllers (PATCO) when they went out on strike. Their strike was a violation of federal law. Reagan warned the strikers to return to work or be fired. They stayed out. He fired them. As former Sec. of State George Schultz would later say, the firing of the PATCO workers was the most important thing President Reagan did on the international stage. That's because foreign leaders watched closely. Even Reagan's antagonists were impressed. The KGB reported to the Communist bosses in the Kremlin: "With Reagan, words are deeds."

With Obama his words are not worthy of the breath they took to be uttered. The world leaders have come to that conclusion.

 

Less than 5% of current people with insurance are having their policies cancelled . Since when, especially in politics, is a 95% truth considered a lie . Anyone with an !.Q
above 50 knows any new program has unforeseen complications. After all the bugs are worked out people will be saying don't F _ _ _ with my OBAMA CARE just like they currently doing with S.S. and MEDICARE which I might point out also had many problems when first instituted .

 

If obamascare is so wonderful, why did they have to make it a law to get people to buy it? Why not just make it available to those that want/need it? The single reason I can think of is more government control over its populace.

 

Very astute and on the mark like a laser beam. If your product is so good you shouldn't need to force people to buy it. It happens automatically. The fact is, Obamascare is a turd wrapped in red tape diaper, just the way Obama wanted it.

I don't think the world gives a flying fidoo about Obamacare and why would they? It's domestic policy pure and simple. Obama's flagging relationship with Netanyahu is another yawn in most of the world except in the Middle East. I'm actually glad that Obama bullied the biggest bully in the world today. Standing up to Israel will do nothing but enhance Obama's image across the world because Israel is the most hated nation in the world today. He needs to do it more.

 

So Israel has been surrounded by enemies on 4 borders since it's inception - and all 4 have pledged to wipe Israel off the map and into the sea - and Israel is the bully? Do you also believe the halocaust never took place? BTW - the globe is laughing at The Blamer. It's a clown show, and, quite frankly, embarrassing.

 

Just wait until common middle class America feel the full impact on their children's lives of the 26 separate ObamaCare Racial Preferences.

When American figure out what ObamaCare has done to their children, it will make sticker shock of the cost of their new ObamaCare health insurance premiums look like a unimportant distraction.

Israel's treatment of the Palestinians in the occupied territories is worse than apartheid in South Africa. There is absolutely no excuse for it, unless you want to give me one. I have found that most people that trash the Jewish State either deny the holocaust, or have zero sympathy for it's survivors. And did you forget about the PLO, indiscriminately killing thousands of Jewish women and children, in restaurants, buses, temples - anywhere they could get to them...

Because nothing world leaders do is "just domestic". When world leaders are deciding on policies, they consider the character of the other leaders. If a man is known to lie, even to his own people, or known to make idle threats, then the rest of the world does not take his words seriously. You're partly right that they don't care specifically about Obamacare, but they are measuring the character of our president.

 

There are two reasons why Bush is not still president and those same two reasons will also apply to Obama. First, the presidency is a terms limit slot. Second, Bush was a bad president.

 

A supposed 95% truth with no source? Not really ever.

I looked for his claim. I was only able to find it circulated around unabashedly right wing sites, like national review. It may be true, there've been times when extremely partisan sites are right, but it's unfortunate that their bias is such that I have to doubt anything I read on them, unless I find it from a more reputable source.

Israel's the most hated nation today, and Anne Frank was among the most hated people in the world 70 years ago. The reason hasn't changed.

 

There is no question that the character of the President is important, however, I think better examples could have been chosen to examine his character. I think Obama's lie (and it WAS a lie - no question) about Obamacare will be offset by most in the Western world by his bringing a form of Universal Healthcare to the US. Most countries in the West are to the left of the US and many will overlook his deceit in its delivery because they are left wing. His unilateral bugging of the world is likely to be what most will remember. It won't be forgotten, believe me.

 

I hear what you're saying although I disagree. I think you can separate anti-Israeli sentiment from anti-Semitism although it's like walking through a minefield.

You may expect Obama to become the first American president for life, but up to this point presidents can only serve two terms. No more. Go back to sleep.

 

So what you're saying is that his credibility is more affected by the spying on his allies than the lies he's told to Americans and his allies? Do you remember guys named Aldrich Ames, or John Walker?

 

Yeah, just wait until we find out how (un)"affordable" many employer-provided plans are (no more than 9.5% of income as defined by Obamacare), how many are undercovered (total costs of covered services must be at least 60%) and how quickly they are forced to be dropped by the law.

Maybe it takes a room temperature IQ to know it's gonna make your 5% figure laughable.
