You don't have to buy stock. Technical analysis is not just true for stocks. The same ideas hold true with many other charts. The reason is because, especially in a chart like this, the information is based upon the desires of the market. Unless something happens to change the trajectory of that chart... his approval will continue to go down.

That's funny because technical analysis allowed me to make $223,000 this year. (ETA, I made $38,000 today alone off of that hokum, 60% of which is my take home). It allowed my friend who has been here 6 years longer than me to make nearly $6M this year and has allowed the firm which trades SOLELY on technical analysis to make record profits nearly every year it's been in existence.

I purchased OXM at 74.00 and sold it at 76.50
I shorted AFSI at 38.00 and sold at 32.00

I usually trade in the golds like ABX, NEM, KGC, GDX but I can trade in anything.

I've only been doing this for 4 years now. I expect to retire in another 8.

Like I said... you're speaking out of ignorance. Do you know what a Proprietary Trading Fund does? They're short term traders. Short-term trading is HIGHLY dependent upon technical analysis. The longer term you are trading the more you'll depend upon fundamental analysis.

The person in your article is talking about a long-term investor who is essentially attempting to outperform the market over the course of a year.

I don't have a portfolio. I don't trade clients money. I trade the businesses money. I have $20M buying power I can have in the market at any given time. I have a 15,000 share limit per trade. I'm not interested in what the market does over the course of a year. I buy and short unlike most traders.

Again please stop talking about things you don't have the slightest clue what in the **** you're talking about. In fact, that would be a lesson you would learn well in most conversations you have.

No not a gambler. Gambling implies no skill. Day trading takes a LOT of skill if you want to make money consistently. There's a guy in the firm who has only had 8 negative trading days all year long.

Speaking from experience. Technical analysis is a sham for 99% of the people who claim to do it. Very few people can make a sustained living off of short term technical analysis. There are people out there that are very intelligent that could pull off some algorithms that give them a slight edge over others, but you just don't strike me as one of those people, lol. I have no doubt that your experience is that you failed miserably trying to use technical analysis. Just because you were a failure, however, does not mean that everyone is going to be.

$38,000 isn't even a lot of money here. One of the traders from NY came in a few months ago and sat down at 9:25am, cut his computer on, started trading at 9:30am, cut his computer off at 10:15am and went home. He had made $228,000 which he gets 60% of. $38,000 is peanuts here.

That guy consistently makes or loses $20,000 - $50,000 per trade... much less per day.
