LOL Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman did not become heroes, they were all but forgotten and replaced with symbols of peace signs. And that's AFTER the cops busted them with a bunch of coke and made them stop doing public gatherings under threat of jail. I understand a lot of the panthers went to jail, but I am just saying you forgot the white people did not get a good ending either.
Also, Jerry Rubin was later run down in the middle of the street, and Abbie Hoffman was killed by a fake overdose. So, I don't think they individually got out to easy either.
