You always pull through at the end don't you? The way to win an argument for you, just change the argument to a different one. Got you!

You can't win cases without evidence.

There you go, throwing yourself out there on assumptions. I find it strange your natural curiosity never seems to enter into this equation. Your heart pounds faster every day in anticipation of Clinton and Obama getting some dirt like this on them. Yet, it never occurs to you why haven't these two who have been in office so long, are not being brought up on federal charges like Mcdonnell? You think federal prosecutors just by chance picked Mcdonnell out of a crowd, pulled him to the side and said ha there, we're going to charge you with 14 counts of bribery without having some back up dirt on this guy? No! And for the simple reason Clinton and Obama haven't been brought up on charges, is because there is nothing to bring up on them. It's just that simple. So yes, there is a big difference. Don't let a sour grape attitude dilute your mind from simple reason.

It is pretty simple why he is charged and the Clinton/Obama crowd hasn't--Eric Holder runs the Justice Department. Now where are the indictments charging the people who offered the bribes that the McDonnells' supposedly accepted? They are charged with making telephone calls and cashing checks, all of which were legal. Where is Tim Kaine's indictment? Like with Nixon, it is the cover up that is going to kill them. The rest is just partisan porn for a receptive minds and yours just happens to be thirsty.

No, that's the road to the 'moral majority' (purgatory is from the Catholic religion, and they probably consider them a cult, like they do Mormons, except err, when one runs for President, then, they're cool with cults).

Well, if she goes, then certainly Bob should be there first. After all HE was the governor, and the one with the authority to abuse the power, not her. I don't doubt that he'll try and hang it all on her though, cause that's what scumbags do but, his he is the abuser. They DO have separate lawyers though, which I think is interesting.

She has a separate indictment that he is not part of--the one related to trying to manufacture the evidence or whatever it was. So far, that seems to be the only charge of the 14 indictments that has some factual merit to it based on what I have read. I don't find them having different lawyers that interesting really. I am more surprised that they do not have separate indictments. Not sure what you mean by him being an abuser though. Seems like she was in the driver's seat a lot of the time (even though what they were doing still was legal based on what has been revealed publicly) .

SHE? Who was governor? He, or she? He had the keys to the kingdom. Geezzus..I guess that's going to be the right wing spin..'it was her fault'. Pretty pathetic. He'll probably just have to pay a fine and get off though. That's what generally happens to corrupt, power ABUSING, wealthy individuals. Man, I hope she squeals like a pig, and drags all kinds of people into it (hopefully those Liberty University hypocrites).

The man accepted bribes. He needs to go to jail.

From what I read they weren't wealthy at all and were big time in debt, but if the fed cannot show that he specifically traded benefits for payments, then it just becomes the last 4 indictments. Just for funsies, how is him staying at their lake house a weekend different than Obama staying at Oprah's for Christmas? I mean Oprah is political and Obama does the things Oprah supports so has Obama violated federal law when he called Oprah and said, "Hey, let me crash at yo' crib, Shorty"?

I knew it had to get back to Obama. It always does with the right.

Apparently the fed thinks he violated the laws (aside from Virginia's apparently hypocritical stance of 'gifts and bribes are fine when OUR people do it' mentality), and time will tell. You need to google the list of perks and gifts the man got inside of 24 hours before decided to 'act' on the donor's behalf. They feds also believe they can prove he ACTED as a result of those gifts, as well. That's called bribery.

I have read the indictment. The fed thinks they can prove lots of things, but even the Washington Post is expressing doubts, and from what I have read, the actual charges are so flimsy they had to use "use of telephone and email" and use of banking system to even get those charges. There is no federal racketeering or tax evasion charges which should be telling to someone reasonable who is not frothing at the mouth at the mere thought of GOP blood.

    Okay..you win..

Everything's cool with conservative/right wingers. I got it. Now, let's get back to the important stuff, like impeaching the President for getting a BJ...stuff like that. You're right. Governor Ultrasound is a Prince.

Until you can explain to me the legal difference, I do win. If you want to compare apples to apples: "...Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, a Democrat, accepted an $18,000 Caribbean vacation last year, putting him atop the list of Virginia elected officials who in 2005 accepted nearly $315,000 in gifts, trips, concert tickets and other gratuities from corporations, interest groups and wealthy persons.

The newly elected governor’s winter getaway on Mustique — a private island playground for rock stars and royalty — was paid for by Albemarle County investor James B. Murray Jr.

Murray had contributed $41,000 to Kaine’s campaigns up to that point, according to the Virginia Public Access Project. Kaine reappointed Murray to the Virginia Commission on Higher Education Appointments.

The VPAP site reveals that since 2001, Kaine received $186,899 in gifts and travel – Redskins tickets, cases of wine, etc.

Before Kaine, Virginia’s governor was Mark Warner, now the state’s other senator. Between 2001 and 2004, Warner received $190,362 in gifts and travel – $495 bottles of wine, a $450 “handmade dulcimer,” etc." (http://www.nationalreview.com/tags/tim-kaine)

    and then there is:

Gov.

Murray Jr.

Many of the trips were business related, but a Kaine spokesman said the governor’s 10-day stay at Mr. Murray’s vacation home was all about rest and relaxation.

Mr. Kaine “saw this as a unique opportunity to get away with his wife and three children after a year of campaigning and on the eve of four years in the spotlight,” said Kevin Hall, an administration press secretary.

Mr. Murray became wealthy by investing in the cellular telephone industry in the 1980s with his longtime friend and Kaine predecessor, Mark Warner, a Democrat.

The trips and gifts are neither illegal nor unusual for Virginia elected officials.

Now, when I hear leftist screaming for the democratic senator from Virginia's indictment, I will reconsider that this is nothing but sour grapes because McDonnell is a republican that scares them in case he decided to challenge Kaine or Warner since he was pretty well-regarded on both sides of the aisle.

The thing is, apparently in Virginia there is no law saying a government official can't accept gifts, but they are required to report them. It looks like McDonnell was in violation of that Virginia law for not reporting the gifts.

Which I agree with you on and have from the beginning--the not reporting and the attempted coverup are his crimes, not taking bribes, and certainly not using the telephone, sending an email, and cashing the loan checks that were legal under Virginia law as part of some grand conspiracy that doesn't violate a federal act. It is a partisan fishing trip except for that aspect of it, and that aspect of it is a state prosecutor's job, not a federal prosecutor who has to invent jurisdiction with banking and telecommunications statutes.

Yes, she looks like a he, for the same exact reasons why Maddow does. I know, but it doesn't fit into the partisan leftist rhetoric.

This partisan blindness - I feel bad for you, son.

The thing is, federal law does prohibit the taking of bribes. We'll have to see how it shakes out, and I think McDonnell has a fair chance at acquittal.

He will probably enter some sort of plea deal to save his wife from her very clear crime of trying to manufacture false evidence. Most of the stuff ties to his wife. Seems like she was frequently asking the people for things About the most damning thing he did was tell some official that he used that company's product personally and the official should consider talking to them, and then not reporting the gifts/loans. It wasn't like he plastered their logo on the side of the Governor's Mansion in exchange for $100K. That he was widely considered to be at the top of Romney's VP short-list just makes this thing reek of politics, especially in light of the link I posted about Kaine, one of teh current VA Senators, appointing someone to a position after the guy gave him a bunch of money and lavished him with freebies.

So, what's the latest FOX noise network's take on all of this? I ask because I refuse to watch it. Is he 'innocent', and this is all a 'liberal' fallacy, or do they even discuss it?
