    I don't know of a single politician from New Orleans that has ever been hailed as a hero once they've left office.

    That didn't protect a couple of the more-corrupt pols in Boston.

    All corrupt politicians should be executed by public beheading.

    I remember when he was first elected and everyone had such high hopes for him. What a crock and incompetent mayor he was.

    20 out of 21 counts; guilty.

    I doubt riots will occur. One juror was a black woman and 2 were Asians. The rest were white. But most jurors go strictly by the evidence....and to find him guilty on 20 out of 21 counts; the evidence must have been pretty convincing.

    it took till the six paragraph before reuters happen to mention he was a democrat. if it was a republican it would have been in the head line

    Apparently the only real issue for them to decide was what constitutes a bribe. May or may not have implications in the Bob McDonnell case down the road, but I am skeptical the Virginia jury will see corruption as readily as any jury in Louisiana.
