Are we really comparing knuckleheads with criminals? What's happening to people here and everywhere?

Is it okay make generalizations about age but not about race or gender or sexual orientation? Simple question.

Why is it so hard for people to answer such a simple question? If it's not okay to stereotype people on the basis of their race or gender, then why is it okay to stereotype people on the basis of their age?

What in the world does that have to do with anything?

I find it amazing that the kings and queens of political correctness are now attempting to justify what is a clear case of negative stereotyping simply because it was one of their own doing the stereotyping. Either it's okay to engage in negative stereotyping or it isn't. Calling an entire group of people "knuckleheads" is demeaning and offensive. Suppose a Republican politician said that black people were knuckleheads? Do you honestly expect me or any other thinking individual to believe that you and other progressives would be okay with that? That you wouldn't excoriate them while demanding a public apology?

Thanks to charter school programs, black people will be able to obtain a quality education in this country.

But a lot of black people don't value education. They think they can become rappers and pro athletes.

But the truth is, black people are knuckleheads. You know?

Just in case anyone wonders, here's the full context:

Given the comedic setting, her comment doesn't seem inappropriate to me. She was merely fishing for laughs - with some success.

I can say one thing, calling folks derogatory names is NOT an optimal way of getting them to buy insurance. Imagine if you looked at a house to buy and the realtor told you that you would be a knucklehead if you didn't buy the house? Would you be more or less likely to make an offer?

"They’re the ones who are cooking for the first time and slice their finger open."

Yeah, only young folks cut their fingers cooking. And of course you need Obamacare if you cut your finger....:hippie:

It sure would be nice if progressives could apply common sense to a few things that come from this administration, or in this case the First Lady. I guess it's like trying to squeeze blood from a turnip though.

"They’re the ones who are cooking for the first time and slice their finger open."

I have some news for Michelle, Last year I sliced my finger open with a super sharp chef's knife I was washing. I washed it, disinfected it, pulled it tight together with 2 butterfly bandages, dressed and splinted it......myself. Folks are more resourceful than she gives them credit for.

I also have an emergency suture kit just in case.

My lady friends tend to be in nursing, one gave be her old suture practice pad. Practice one handed too. It need not be pretty, just effective.

Which group is that insulting? It's not a word specific to any group of people. Your making false equivalences.

I find it amazing that the left who is so quick to scream at "lumping groups together" are now making excuses for the person who should absolutely know better than to do that. More left wing hypocrisy coming straight from MO's mouth.

Do I find it insulting? Yes and no. Yes, because I should be expected to know what's best for me and not some "politician". No, because this is par the course for the "Liberal" Party. Remember when they were justifying grotesque sexual insults on Sarah Palin? Yeah...that's not the kind of party you want to look to for "social tolerance".

    Low-Information Voters simply think they're tolerant :D

You knuckleheads think you're invincible, but we count on you enrolling in Obamacare, because you won't use as many services and we count on that will subsidize older sicker people.

    Yep no contradictions here folks.

Progressives would have lost their mind had Rand Paul said something this stupid. I sometimes wish they would go off and forum their own United States of Double Standards with their cohorts the Republicans.

I find nothing offensive about referring to young people as knuckleheads. IMO, this is being blown way out of proportion, at least here.

And there are some blacks who laugh at fried chicken and watermelon jokes and some gays that laugh at "girlfriend" humor, but not all are so easy-going.

Political correctness is the provenance of the progressives; telling us that we should err on politeness in case if offends even one person.

Live by the sword die by it.

Am I understanding you to say that you find MO's comment offensive?

I find them revealing more than offensive - though believe you me had a Republican said something like this, liberals would have been tripping all over themselves to find any local sword upon which to fall declaring their offense.

It's revealing that the core demographic that HAD to have been fooled into participating in this glittering jewel of totalitarian ignorance - the 18-26 yr olds - are considered 'knuckleheads' by this Regime.

I agree, in one sense: you'd HAVE to be a knucklehead to think that ObamaScam is a good deal if you're that young.

I find Michelle Obama's double standard offensive. Personally, I subscribe to RuPaul's wise words, if you are offended by a word you have bigger problems than that word.

Progressives constantly explain to us the power of public speaking and words. Her husband even plagiarized a speech (that Hillary caught him doing) where he appropriated the "don't tell me words don't matter" phrase over and over. If words matter all that much then she should be more careful with hers and not label a generation that is paying for the SS and health care of the older generations and putting their lives on the lines overseas as "knuckleheads".

So, yes, I am offended by her use of the word since she deems words so powerful as to destroy someone's whole day.
