Why do Christians claim Christianity is monotheistic?

Well it's either that or they just enjoy humiliating themselves.

One would think that if you adopt a belief system you would do the work to discover ALL the histories and truths behind it. Not close your eyes and mind and ignore everything that contradicts your dogma!

 

Not really. Your basic fundy is ignorant, intellectually lazy and dishonest.

The personality type needs certainties. And, the lower rungs of society
do like to try to find some way that they can feel they are better than them high falootin'
ivory tower people.

What could be better than the power of inerrant readin', and being a bible believin', god fearin', heaven goin' fundy, for that?

how could that be, YL? your god is omniscient, right? therefore he knew there would be a Christ, and Christianity. he knew all of this when he had his scribes jot down the law in the OT. the minute you try to claim the OT is limited to its time and place, you abandon all claim to omniscience.

10. Numbers 31:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him

11. Genesis 38:24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

12. Leviticus 21:9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

Do not get defensive when someone questions your assumptions or disagrees with your assumptions about something you know nothiing about. The reason why you do not know is becasue you do not have the same faith as Chrsitians. I am not stating that is bad or good, just stating that you cannot possibly know becaue you have never experienced what Christians have experienced.

What makes Christianity different than most other religions is that we are justified by faith, not works. when you look at Islam, Buddism, Confusis,, Taoism and other religions, they are justified by works, not faith, yet anyone follwoing any religion must have some faith to begin with.
