What is wrong with people who are eligible to vote getting an ID card, registering to vote, and showing their ass up at the polling place showing that ID to verify that they are who say they are and then vote. Not doing this makes no sense whatsoever. The progressive leftist bovine scat that suggests that people are unable to do so because they would be inconvieniant. The whole thing is beyond rediculous.

The Constitution does NOT require you to be coddled, my birthday is the end of next month, I am going down today to renew it. It's what responsible citizens do as the Constitution requires of you.

What confusion, it is your duty as a citizen to know the laws of your state, ignorance is no excuse you know.

I think we should just let anybody vote.......illegal aliens, minors, felons.......and multiple times.......'vote early and often'.......whichever party can motivate the most folks to head down to the polls the most times wins. The whole idea that anyone should have to possess and present some sort of minimal ID in order to vote is simply racist........even though the very same person would have to produce an ID to buy a beer down the street or use a credit card in many instances.......

Sigh. The INTENT, stated by Republicans in so many words, was to add a little bit to the hassle level of certain classes of voters, who just happened to be mostly Democrat voters.

There are of course plenty of ways to institute a universal voter ID card which do not place more difficulties in front of voters to one party. Indeed, those ways could be (and could have been) instituted long since. Now, you might ask yourself, IF voter impersonation fraud was a problem, why someone did NOT take steps like this to combat it long ago? And you don't have to look very hard to discover that voter impersonation fraud has never been a problem at all. Indeed, this same simple search will inform you that "protecting legal voters from being disenfranchised" has never been an issue or a problem.

So I keep asking, and you keep carefully evading, the key question: WHY is that ONLY Republican states have taken measures to prevent the nonexistent? Do you seriously think that the inconvenience involved falling primarily on those who vote Democrat is a coincidence? Do you think preventing what has never happened is REALLY the "whole point here"? Can you be honest? Will pigs fly?

Wrong again, it is just a fact that the higher the integrity level the more it hurts Democrats, why are you against protecting the integrity of elections?

More difficult and more of a hassle, but since you support that why do you oppose the more simpler means now available? Care to reconcile that?

Been inplace in my state for a number of year and since the newer motor voter, fill out a form on the street supplied by an non-official person has come to be we need the ID at the polling place.

How would you know that any of the close elections throughout our election history have not been swayed by a few impersonated voters?

Because Democrats think they can capitalize on voter fraud, why else? DUH. Since obtaining an ID is no more difficult than applying for welfare there is no logical reason to assume the poor and minorities can't obtain them so there is no advantage to Republicans on that end.

Indiana passed its voter ID law in 2005 and it was upheld by SCOTUS (Crawford vs. Marion County Election Board) in 2008. I don't see why the anti-voter ID crowd keeps whining. Voter ID laws ARE legal. Get over it.

Today is Primary day in Indiana. This morning I went to my local voting center, presented my ID, voted, and was on my way for the rest of the day. So easy. If you don't have an ID, the local BMV branches are open additional hours today so you can obtain your free ID if you waited until the last minute to get one before you voted today. The law bends over backwards to make sure that everyone who wants an ID is afforded the opportunity to do so.

Yes oh I remember before we had voter ID having to tell the senior citizen manning the desk who I was, then repeating it and spelling it then they looked down the list of my last name then telling them my first and having to spell out the addresss...........now I just hand them my ID and they quickly look it up and off to the voting booth! MUCH easier.
