At the time they were notified it was happening, they had no way to know how long it would be going on. Had they dispatched assets, and it ended before they arrived...whats the worst that would happen. They go back?

What assets did they have? Actually if you read the email dump you referenced you realize that there are several email chains explaining what happened and where.

The attack began at 3:40 PM U.S./ 9:40 PM Benghazi time, it ended after 10:00 PM U.S./ 4:00 AM Benghazi time. Check Wiki for that answer. Must be that new math you're using.

I was only looking at the time it took to regain control of the building. It was about I hour for that and perhaps small arms fire for another hour or two after that.

I find it hilarious that the right somehow believes in some nefarious plot because the white house in the midst of an election would issue a memo on the appropriate political objectives for official communiques and how to position them.

Are republican supports so ignorant of such normal course of business in politics?

Could they be any more hypocritical when the other guy in the midst of an election campaign came out with is own late night press conference and spin condemning the Obama administration BEFORE any official reports were submitted?

some people will eat up this partisan dog's breakfast, but those with a modicum of intelligence and knowledge of the various processes of politics will see thru this truly transparent poltical theatre.

Where has there ever been a poll showing that a majority of the American people want Benghazi investigated continually?

Most Americans would have been fine with a Senate and a House investigation, but we're on investigation #6 with no end in sight.

There was no shortage of funds for the security Benghazi. BTW whatever happened to all those man-pad SAM's? Certainly there were basically no orders from the White House or State Department to rescue those in Benghazi until well after the attack was over.

 

This won't kill Hilary's political career. After all, we lost many more American lives in terrorist attacks under the Reagan administration than we have under the Obama administration. The only difference now is that the Republicans have dreamed up a scandal they want to sale to the American people and when they don't get evidence to support their made up story, they claim the Obama administration isn't cooperating.

Under Reagan we lost 299 American and French servicemen in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing. That took place on an American military compound. A lot more could be said for poor security in that case than in the Benghazi case. Honestly, Republicans are over playing there hand on this one. They want a smoking gun and there is no smoking gun.
