Give it up. We're all wrestling in mud so it's silly for anyone to claim to be unsullied. Even Jesus used labels and none of us are holier than him.

I am unsullied...you'll just have to try cope with the fact that I'm better than you I guess...

A teenaged liberal calling names and applying labels as a means of arguing his beliefs.

    Really, I'm impressed.

    - - - Updated - - -

Because liberals are staunchly against ideas of supremacism... Unless they consider themselves supreme over their political rivals, of course.

    - - - Updated - - -

You're apparently so lost in your personal dislike of me that you are unable to do much of anything other than throw very short posts full of anger, moral outrage, and ad hominem tu quoque.

Why do you believe in things you cannot defend the validity of?

Btw, what you just accused me of here is not what I do. I specifically say those things if they're parroting a rote viewpoint from the political left.

Not very well. Banging labels and leaving is very... Teenager.

I would also suggest you look a little closer on the segregation issue. Blacks are only against the type of segregation they don't initiate.

Wyly used labels. In fact, his entire argument was labels and he has yet to recover from it.

Good one. Funny how black ONLY organizations are perfectly OK. But a white only organization....well that's just racist. Hypocrisy?

Your lack of respect for what makes your country great, which has to be the people. Not some but all the people, even the ones you don't like, and the people they vote for.
"Saying 'Death to America' is easy...We need to express 'Death to America' with action." President Hassan Rouhani.

I believe Canadian believes you support and agree with the quote in your signature. Me and anyone that has been here a while knows different.

To the OP "white privilege" is not wide spread IMO. I am sure it does exist on a micro level but it is usually something else people misinterpret as a benefit for being "white".

If Canadian thinks the quote in my signature has anything to do with any comment I made about White Privilege in this thread, I'm even more confused on what he means. If he was just taking the signature separate from anything else in this thread, he failed to note that. I don't have time to baby someone who can't articulate their thoughts clearly via the written word.

"All the verbiage" I've injected into the thread in my total of three previous posts is that overwhelming to you?

It's this lack of perspective that marks the fringe racist right as irrational.

I'm not sure anyone was saying it was. (that, btw is a "straw man" argument). Regardless of what you "believe", anyone can be misinformed by flawed facts or outright cons. Most people do use the Internet, in addition to traditional media, to educate themselves, and to suggest you don't do this is highly unlikely.

Admittedly critical thinking and research skills vary wildly. And most rational people adjust their "beliefs" based on new facts and information, with the possible exception of Theists solely in the matter of personal faith.

This sounds like a very interesting story. Perhaps you could say a little bit about how long you identified with left politics and what made you leave? Or post a link if you've discussed this before?

This is a confusing statement: On one hand you claim there are racist double standards. Then you imply , presumably the Left, is NOT anti racist, ergo racist, because of these of these double standards.

Maybe you can clear this up: How is the Left racist and who is the target of this racism?

"White Privilege" has appeared as a way of explaining uncomfortable truths for the liberals. White people have done very well for themselves for many centuries, especially the last 500 years or so. Great things happened that are historic and monumental, Western Civilization flourished in ways that had never been approached by anyone. Westerners had faults as all humans do, the faults of Westerners were also the faults of other groups such as muslims, blacks, native Americans and Asians.

The difference in the western world was that those faults were overcome, slowly for a long time, but very quickly in the last couple of centuries. Western Civilization is the greatest in human history, yet those left behind are bitter.

That bitterness comes not from the sins of the West, that bitterness is a jealous rage, caused by their own failure to adapt to progress. Perhaps other groups (besides East Asians obviously, who are very intelligent and successful today) should have learned from their own mistakes, and the great example set by Westerners.

Not sure what you mean. I was referring to that some people condemn an entire group of people based on little more than common ancestry over some historical grievance over what dead people did, and do so without justifying their saying these things. I take issue with that.

I actually don't see that very often, even outside of religion. All too often I see people deny things they encounter which contradict their tightly-held worldview or philosophy, including in purely secular beliefs. You can even give them direct scientific data, and like a creationist, they deny it even while looking down on creationists for denying science. What I see is that a large portion of people accept whatever political box they decide to join, accepting all of its tenets (or at least main ones) without much dissent or critical departure.

I grew up liberal by default, I think in part due to the influence of an older sibling. Our mother had a 4th grade education so couldn't really guide us in terms of politics and the type of critical reading and thinking you learn in college. I grew up a very staunch partisan Democrat, voted Dukakis the first time I voted, and was curious about race relations so I began reading some Afrocentrist literature including The Final Call, which is the Nation of Islam's weekly newspaper. I read a LOT about Malcolm X and some of Elijah Muhammad's stuff.

In my 20s, I wanted to learn more about politics and the world, so I started making trips to the library. I looked at a little feminist literature and realized they were nuts; one of them thought pregnancy was oppression and demanded "artificial uteruses" (Dworkin?). I read a very hostile, inflammatory book meant to emotionally inflame it's readers; something about a war on women in the workplace which I realized was basically a collection of angry stories put together to create the impression that there was an overarching conspiracy against women and that realization left a bad taste in my mouth. At the time, I got some mailings from the NOW which were insulting; they sent me hysterical letters about how I had to send them money to "protect" me from Rush Limbaugh, and included a few seemingly bad out on context mined quotes to that effect. That was a manipulative insult to my intelligence and I discarded NOW as legitimate from that point on.

In 1994, Bill Clinton passed the Welfare Reform act which left me blindsided and extremely angry at the DNC; so much so I quit the party. (I'm conservative but still against that act.) A few years later the library, I unwittingly fell into leftism (I had no idea how to spot it or what it was about at the time), having read Hidden Agendas by John Pilger and was very outraged by it and then went through the bibliography of that book to learn more. At the time I didn't realize he was doing a lot of sourcing of the opinions of anti-capitalist left-wing radicals such as Chomsky, Zinn, and Parenti. I unwittingly and unfortunately took these people on face value that their viewpoints were from a moral perspective and not a political one; in other words, I did not realize yet that their outrage was not a truly moral outrage but one in which they were only outraged about what capitalist pigs were doing. It took a few years for me to realize this which begun my disillusionment with the radical Left, but at that point I already considered myself a Marxist-Leninist. The moral hypocrisies and situational moral outrage of the political left is what really set it off for me. At that point I also began reading things from ex-Marxists such as David Horowitz which helped me understand the bits I wasn't able to piece together such as why they were championing certain things which to me were not morally consistent.

I couldn't recommend Horowitz more to understanding the radical left. He explains perfectly the viewpoints they take and why, which are not based on any real sense of morality but all revolve around power and striking at the enemy. His book Radicals is a great place to learn that.

There absolutely are racist double standards and the left is rife with them.

How often do you see "antiracist" and "human rights" groups protesting or marching when a white person is a victim of racist attacks or verbal slights? Here in Denver we a couple years ago had the largest hate crime spree in our history which involved over 50 victims, at least one having been murdered. None of these groups opened their mouths. Why? The perpetrators were black street gangs and the victims were white. Victims were racially taunted while their skulls were fractured, and none of these "antiracist" groups gave a rat's ass about it.

If you want more details on the racial double standard, feel free to check out Hating Whitey and Other Progressive Causes by David Horowitz

I had mentioned on a thread here recently also giving the idiot groups "Anti-Racist Action" the same critical look. I had the opportunity to discuss the issue of their racial hypocrisy online with a couple members, and lo and behold, neither one of them could answer me. I asked 1) Why is your group only going after white racists and never racists who attack whites? and 2) Why are white members of your group speaking up against white racism but your non-white members aren't saying anything about other non-whites who are being racist against whites?

Obviously, with this kind of thing going on, one cannot legitimately claim to be "anti racist."

This is why you see white people saying, "Anti-racist is code for anti-white." They notice the pattern in this behavior and how the term "racist" is thrown at whites and whites only a good 98% of the time, if not more. When the term is used in this manner, it then becomes clear that "racist" is just yet another anti-white racial slur.

Racism cloaked as anti-racism is all it is.

Why is this happening? Because the radical left are trying to use race (also homosexuals) as a battering ram against the establishment in the West.

Nowadays, White privilege does not exist at all! Average white people need to face different kinds of competition like other kinds of people.

Privilege belongs to those who are lucky enough to born in weathy families, which offer them ample recourses and connections, make their starting point far closer to the top of the social pyramid, than normal simple people =_____="

White privilege did exist when almost all whites were the upper class, which was long long time ago

The globalization makes people get privilege not by race but by capital.

How exactly is that racist? Is it racist when African-Americans do it? Or only, when the "big bad Whites" do it? And what was forced about it in the case of South Africa, other than conquering their lands? Is it now racist to engage in warfare? When we defend the USA from Islamic Extremists are we being racist against Arabs?

Empress is exactly right, the claim of so-called 'White Privilege' is racist. Moreover it's the same ideology the Jews had to face in Germany. They were also unduly slandered, persecuted and manslaughtered for their success. What do you think is the 'Final Solution' for the New Black Panther party?

And should Whites be taken to the guillotine, the very last political group that'll ever come to their aid is the 'Democratic Party' and their supporters. For after all, Whites are getting their 'just desserts'.

I too am a former Liberal, having left for the same reasons: Hypocrisy, lies, authoritarianism(though I'm a bit of one myself. Authority to a respect is necessary for proper government) but most of all: Blatant Racism. Dating back to LBJ's Great Society:

    http://www.westernfreepress.com/2014/03/25/lbj-ill-have-those-n-voting-democratic-for-the-next-200-years/

The only thing 'great' about it has been Democratic November victories, but as Empress and I can attest to: That's all the borg hive care about.
