The Dallas Cowboys will be forced to change their team name after the National Organization for Women has insisted that it is offensive for being gender exclusive. An official statement from the organization stated, "It is sexist to claim that only boys can be cows. Particularly since all of the cows in nature are girls. Therefore the name is demeaning and must be changed." Throwing the Constitution completely out the window, a court ruled this week in favor of the politically correct complaint. And so beginning this next season, the legendary football team will now be known simply as the Dallas Cowpeople. Elsewhere currently in the works are similar lawsuits against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (filed by offended pirates), the Minnesota Vikings (filed by offended vikings), and the San Francisco 49ers (filed by offended people who are 49 years old). When will the bigotry stop? I long for a newer, more forward thinking, progressive era where cities everywhere give their teams sterile and inoffensive names that everyone can support. Like the Washington Things. Or the Cleveland Stuff.

The Miami Dolphins name is exclusionary and therefore racist. How can you name a team after one species, and completely ignore stingrays, squid, whales, mackerel, trout and sharks?
NOW obviously doesn't understand the meaning of the word "cowboy". It doesn't mean that the boy is a cow. It only means that he has a sexual preference for cows.
Philadelphia should have to change their name to the Philadelphia Birds. Seattle can be the Seabirds and Baltimore can be the Poebirds. Excluding other species of birds is just wrong and biased. While we're at it, New York should just be the New York Planes, not the jets as prop engine planes are just as worthy.
Cowpeople? I don't think that has much ring to it. In light of the hard times they have fallen on, I think Cowpatties would be more fitting.
I hear the Jaguars are being forced to change their name. Apparently actual jaguars feel that any connection to the team itself will lead people to believe that the animals themselves are losers.
Think how insensitive it is to teach kids that any team could be an animal. The Patriots beat the dolphins. What kind of message that sends to kids.
In other football news........ A possible merger is in the works for the Tampa Bay Bucaneers and the Green Bay Packers. The suggested new name would be the Tampax, however some have raised the concern that the team would only be good for one period. Enjoy!
