It's shameful an inexcusable that branding the dead child as "illegal", and enforcing the prejudice of presumed guilt is still the top priority of this thread.

This is not about children, that is a smokescreen. This is about 330,000 illegals entering since April, the 55,000 children are a distraction. The focus should be on turning all border hopping criminals back, it would be far cheaper to deport them than to support them for the rest of their lives

I didn't mean it from the OP standpoint, but from the issue as defined by the media. All of the focus is on branding this as a children's welfare issue. It serves as a distraction to explain the complete border collapse and lack of enforcement that is occurring.

Yes it is illegal. You seem to think that children are allowed to legally enter the US based on the fact they are children. Not true. How do I know this? A few years back my niece ,who was 5 at the time, applied for a visitors visa to come and visit my wife and I. She was DENIED because they claimed she might stay here illegally. I guess if I had promised to get her a job picking fruit they would have let her in.

You are confusing the anti trafficking laws with immigration laws. So you are wrong.

 

You are correct and it is illegal for children to enter illegally as it is an adult. What is being confused here is our immigration laws and anti trafficking laws. If 60,000 children that seemed to arrive at once are all being sent here for slave labor and sexual exploitation then our government has failed big time. Even more reason to secure the border.

 

How would you suggest we secure the border more than it is currently? The border is more secure now than anytime in my life time. To get the border more secure than it is currently would take money. Trying to get congress to approve spending on this is next to impossible these days.

Unfortunately, ranchers there find only bleached bones on their properties and bury them. Very sad. Wildlife takes its toll on dead bodies.
