    Well...

    [as Reagan would say]

we know how the liberals do war (usually not at all)

Here is how God fights a war. Obviously, God fights to win, and yes, he can look pretty treacherous, even "evil"... but we cannot question what is truly from God. The only problem is that some don't believe certain things in the Bible are from God... Well, only God knows... But in any case, here is the following (presented by someone who believes the Bible

    Ez 9

The Lord cried loud for me to hear Come, you scourges of the city! With that I saw 6 men coming from the direction of the upper gate which faces the north, each with a destroying weapon in his hand In their midst was a man dressed in linen, with a writer’s case at his waist They entered & stood beside the bronze altar Then he called to the man dressed in linen with the writer’s case at his waist, saying to him “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem & mark a ‘Thau’ on the forehead of those who moan & groan over all the abominations that are practiced within it

To the others I heard the Lord say Pass through the city after him & strike! Do not look on them with pity nor show any mercy! Old men, youths & maidens, women & children—wipe them out! but do not touch any marked with the ‘Thau’ Begin at my sanctuary

So they began with the men, the elders, who were in front of the temple Defile the temple, he said to them And fill the courts with the slain; then go out & strike in the city Then the glory of the Lord left the threshold of the temple & rested upon the cherubim These lifted their wings & I saw them rise from the earth, the wheels rising along with them They stood at the entrance of the eastern gate of the Lord’s House & the glory of the God of Israel was up above them Then the cherubim lifted their wings & the wheels went along with them while up above them was the glory of the God of Israel

Have you actually ever read any history books?

I ask this because that one statement just seems not just partisan- but strikingly ignorant of history.

Why can't 'we' question what is truly from god?

If God told you to go out and kill babies- would you do it?

I suspect you are against abortion- why is it okay for God tell people to kill living children- but not okay for women to decide to have an abortion?

Wasn't God... it was Ezekiel and the prophets were all very political.

by the way the elders and not common old men. and are the brains of the tribe [IMG], but the warriors or general is the leadership in the older cultures. now a days there lawyers and con men and women politicians. usually they are the last to go and are well protected..

It's nice to see Christians admit that, in their holy book, their evil god ordered the deliberate murder of children.

God told them to kill everyone because if they didn't kill the children, those children would grow up knowing the victor had killed hteir parents... and war would break out all over again

Again, God knows how to do war... God (surprise, surprise) knows things humans do not... hard to believe, i reckon... but true nonetheless..

God knows how to do the most immoral thing known to man?

You do realize this is what they did and currently still doing in North Korea right?

'God' knows how to commit and order the most evil and immoral things one can think of. . .we knew this already.

Of course the truth is this (*)(*)(*)(*) was written by vile men who sought to justify genocide they committed as 'god's will'. ISIS is doing the same thing atm. . .

This is my problem with the Abrahamic religions....

Jesus was preaching at a time of MASSIVE upheaval against the Roman government. The people would do anything to find a way out of their situation including believing in miracles.

Then he walks into Jerusalem and "raises" Lazarus from the dead, ultimately leading to his death. In other words, he promised something to the people which would end their suffering.

How about we take that to today where science is becoming the new religion.

If some guy invented cold fusion, figured out a way to get a massive group of people to believe him, then say "if you follow me you will have cold fussion. Wouldn't a TON of people follow this guy?

    Same with Mohammad.

Some dude gets a bunch of seizures, then comes out of them to say he saw Gabriel? Then uses this vision to take his already politically involved family to lead in politics.

How is that ANY different from John Smith finding tablets, oh and by the way both of them demanded to "pray alone" when writing their books. What a joke...

Bottom line is people without power will follow those who promise it to them.

If we were to educate every person on earth to the highest level, I'm willing to bet religion would fade away.

Using the Old Testament as a basis for war tactics is a great way to demonstrate how brutal and psychotic God is depicted.

It's not something very conducive to sane behavior, however.

It's the problem with the 3 desert dogmas in general.
