If Obama were confident that he was on firm legal grounds, he should have no difficulty in bringing the issue before the American people before the elections..................

In his Sunday interview President Obama was not asked some fundamental questions: Where does he get the authority to change laws unilaterally? He bragged about pulling troops out of Iraq and then denied it was his call–so which is it? Didn’t his failure to act in Syria allow the Islamic State to grow? When the next GOP president wants to unilaterally change the tax code, what is he going to say? Hasn’t he lost Ukraine?

Obama arrived in Estonia 03 September to meet with the heads of the Baltic states - Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - amid growing concerns about Russia's military involvement in Ukraine. The three former members of the Soviet bloc have been anxiously watching Moscow's alleged support for eastern Ukrainian separatists, as each country also has Russian minorities. EPA/VALDA KALNINA

It is not that new “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd did not try to be aggressive, but opening with a sharp question, letting the president ramble and moving on to the next question is not going to pin the president down. The reason Tim Russert was so good was that he dove into particulars and then went back and back, challenging and debunking. He would not have let the president falsely say he was not referring to the Islamic State when he called them the “jayvee.” team. That excuse has already gotten four Pinocchios from my colleague Glenn Kessler. Todd was clearly an improvement over his predecessor, but he was, to be blunt, not all that effective.

Such is the state of left-leaning politicians and the MSM. The former feel they need not be constrained by facts or laws, and the latter are not sharp enough to pin them down. But on immigration, the president certainly has gone too far, and perhaps he has underestimated both the anger among Hispanic activists and those genuinely upset by a breakdown in constitutional order.

His funneling of resources to the terrorists opposing Assad in Syria allowed the Islamic State to grow.

Welllllll . . . the problem is that via its perverted child MSNBC the broadcast network NBC has been mated to Barack Obama's butt crack from day one and Chuck Todd is NBC's Political Director for News, meaning that he wanted NBC to be one of Barack's political worshipers as a network; and so this piece of feces hyper partisan is going to follow up on ANY tough questions that he dares ask Barack Obama? Not likely!

So it was a farce from the get-go and shall remain that way until NBC decides to once again become a politically neutral news broadcast network -- which ain't likely to happen -- or until Chuck Todd is fired -- which ain't likely to happen -- or until Barack Obama slimes out of office at the end of 2016, to be replaced by a GOP president -- which is what IS going to happen; whereupon THEN NBC and Chuck Todd will 'rediscover' how not only to ask tough questions but DEMAND follow up answers. Nice, eh?

Mitt Romney on Sunday ripped into President Obama for his handling of the Islamic State militant group and other foreign policy decisions, accusing the president several times of being “out of touch.”

Romney, who lost to Obama in the 2012 presidential election, eschewed several opportunities during a “Fox News Sunday” interview to revisit his assertions during the campaign that Russia was the United States’ biggest geopolitical threat, in light of Moscow’s recent foray into Ukraine.

Romney said he’s instead focused on U.S. foreign policy today, including what to do about the rise of Islamic State militants.

“I think the president is really out of touch with reality,” Romney said. “He’s so out of touch with reality that he hasn’t taken the necessary steps. … He’s too busy on the golf course. I don’t know if you can see the reality from the fairway, but he doesn’t see reality."

Romney said Obama has known for at least a year about the Islamic State threat, yet has taken no action and has not developed a strategy to deal with the militants.

“The president has a very different foreign policy than what the United States has had over the past 60 years,” Romney said. “It’s based on common humanity, and humanity is not common. … Bad people do bad things.”

Romney said recent polls show it is clear to the American people that Obama has not been engaged.

He also criticized the administration for failing to clearly explain the facts that led to the Sept. 11, 2012, terror attacks on the U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya, in which four Americans were killed.

“This goes on and on,” Romney said. “This lands at the feet of Hillary Clinton."

America’s racial divide has deepened over the last six years, despite hopes Obama’s election would usher in a “post-racial” America. Is it possible that the pothead is also stirring the pot?

Oh aye. There is no doubt that Barack Obama is a serious racist, but more than that he also appears to be a serious nation-hater who really, REALLY wants to see the United States knocked back down to second tier status from world power status so that we are merely a nation among many rather than the premier nation in the world. Compared to that goal, his inveterate racist activities are a mere sideline hobby with him.

As to Romney, the following was a wonderful statement on his part: “The president has a very different foreign policy than what the United States has had over the past 60 years,” Romney said. “It’s based on common humanity, and humanity is not common. … Bad people do bad things.”

Speaking of illegitimate, the suppression of free speech on this site is reprehensible. The Influence of Freedom of Speech on Tort Law can cost money. Are donors owners?

Ah, yes, critics abound when what we really need are people with sound policy advice. Sadly, all I've been hearing from the hostile opposition (formerly loyal opposition) is criticism and not the first bit of useful advice which takes into consideration all of the factors in play for any given situation. Which makes it about as useful as ice cubes for Eskimos in January.
