When obama messes up, just close your eyes and think of bush.[/QUOTE]

I do, but probably not the one you're thinking of.

Respect would be knowing you have no right to act like you are active duty military.

We don't fawn over the rich, we just have careers, which are made possible by the rich.

    - - - Updated - - -

So only people in the military are allowed to notice when obama disrespects the military?

    - - - Updated - - -

    You sound weird. And old.

You're half right, which for a true patriot is unprecedented.

Anyone saluting the military, right way or wrong, is being disrespectful. Dont pretend to be military if you are not.

Lincoln didn't salute Grant and they both did more than the actor ever did. Hopefully the next POTUS will dump that silly crap in the trash can where it belongs.

Obama is the only guy who should pretend, since he gives them orders.

You're the only leftist in America who wants things to be the way they were back then.

He does so, as a civilian. 38 other presidents never did it. This is all so petty. Plenty of real reasons to not like the guy.

This is just a microcosm of the Nth degree reasons not to like obama. On that we agree.

If you don't see Obama for what he is then there was zero chance of you ever voting GOP. good riddance.

Looks like the miracle of concentration allows Bush to do two things at once. I believe Reagan (peace be upon his soul) was the first president to do this saluting business. It begs the question "so what"?

I really don't think this rises to the level of scandal. We should probably cut him some slack here. I mean the president probably had important matters on his mind.

Like that awesome drive he made on the 17th hole.

Again, I don't think it so much as scandalous, But it is a telling imagery of our presidents lack of respect and decorum. I've seen it before. When Presidents Bush and Obama visited ground zero together with the first ladies. While George & Laura knelt to carefully lay a bouquet of flowers at the site, President Obama, tossed his on the pile as if discarding an empty Starbucks cup.

As for the Bush salute, well he gave it the old college try, and awkward as it was for him he made more than just a half assed effort

Yeah Bush respected the military so much he built a war on lies and sent countless young men and woman to their deaths or to get life changing injuries. Just so he could upstage Daddy. 13 years later we are still cleaning up his mess, and will be for a very long time.

It is offenseive to a Marine. But I think it is more indicitive of a temporary lack of decorum then some display of hatred of all things military. The RWers always get so emotional and carried away.

What's your obsession with fox news? What do they have to do with this? I am speaking of the military times polls...lol.
No need to get butthurt, it's just a fact.

    At ease there private.

The FOX reference is a general allusion to the right wing info bubble. Not butthurt at all - I'm not the one pissin' my panties because your President didn't salute like George Patton. Matter of fact, I wouldn't care at all if he had asked the Marine to 'pull his finger'. He's the boss and they work for him. End of story.

He is the boss, correct, but that doesn't make him a good boss. I think this whole thing is an overreaction for sure, but I still think it was a really stupid thing to do. It's just disrespectful. I said the SAME thing about Bush when he gave the "puppydog" salute.

I'm sure you did. But enough of this even handedness. Let's get back to BENGHAZI!

So little time, so much hysteria.

While it's apparent you have no respect for the colors, at least your honest about it.

It is not correct protocal for a President to salute anyone in the military.

The military serves the people, not the other way around. So it's the military that salutes elected officials, not the elected officials who salute the general (or the Marines).

    Ronald Reagan changed that.

Of course, he only served in the military in the movies.
