This post eloquently sums up the current conservative zeitgeist as it relates to science and the realm of logic and reason. Instead of merely Googling your assertions, or making a modicum of effort to verify your beliefs, just blurt something out because it sounds right. Of course, humans dwarf volcanoes in CO2 output.

I'm not really sure what argument you're trying to cobble together, exactly. Maybe that, because of gravity and other scientific discoveries, man can't influence the climate? Despite the fact that were very good at emitting a well understood greenhouse gas beyond anything close to natural levels?

To succumb to the fallacy that because it would difficult to reduce CO2 emissions, we shouldn't try is completely defeatist and undermines human innovation. It's not a question of if we could reduce emissions, it's a question of who is holding us back.

Really, adjusting the Data so it matches what the models predict. This isnt science.

That would depend on how cold it gets in the winter.

Had we bought into it back in 1997, we'd never stop paying the scam ransom.

says the guy using coal fired electricity to tell the rest of us to reduce our greenhouse gases. Im not trying to make an argument. Ive made it and you have proved it correct. Here Ill nail it home. Whats your viable alternative to oil? Please give us your new discovery. We will use it immediately. If you dont have one what exactly do you expect trucks to run on?

It wasn't just "cool" temps...there has been record setting cold.

Record cold here, record heat there...all in all, it's a wash.

Nice try at spinning it though.

And no one has yet proven that what we do has had any significant effect.

The alarmists can only point and screech "it's changing!"...

News flash...earth has been changing since it formed....and will continue changing, with or without us.

With rising oceans I see the benefit fishermen will get with increased fishing areas. That's got to be a good thing, right?! Of course the 1% might not agree when they lose their waterfront property. They will have to relocate inland while the middle class will end up getting a waterfront property. Tee Hee!

Nice attempt at a deflection. There is no silver bullet for climate change. Economics 101 states that you tax what you want to see less of, which is why a carbon tax (on businesses) is a good idea. We'll need to innovate and find real, sustainable alternative energy sources. Again, it's not going to happen overnight, but sticking our heads in the sand is just going to exacerbate the problem.

That is the problem with true believers, they never look at any new data, just the old and possibly wrong data that fits the CAGW meme. Twice as many volcanoes have been found undersea recently which isn't even considered in your poor article.

Well, if "energy shift" (a term I saw in here) is true, then...yes, but certainly not in the way the warmists want us to believe.

so you have no viable alternative but you criticize others using your coal generated electricity. Sure our heads are in the sand...eyeroll.

If the results you are claiming are not present in the data and only appear when you run the data through your model then it safe to say that the model is the source.

There is no equlivency argument here. Cook is nor credible for reasons beyond being an alarmist. For starters his job title is "climate change communication fellow" in other words paid propagandists.

There is no equlivency between him and watts. Watts has never hosted a picture of himself photoshopped as fricking Himler sitting on his blog.[IMG]

Yes when you photoshopped yourself as Himler you lose all credibility for life.

just more computer modeling with incomplete data. Find out what the man will pay for and design the model to produce the output desired. If there were any anomalies in ocean temperature it would be flagged by Mocha https://www.rsmas.miami.edu/users/mocha/mocha_results.htm

Where has there been record cold? cites please.

    - - - Updated - - -

One of the major predictions of the various global warming models is that weather will become a lot more erratic.

Maybe you forgot, but there is more to the weather then just the United States. I guess the other continents don't exist? :roflol:

You mean the world is in its heating heating up cycle like it has gone through for its entire existence? oh shocker and eventually it will cool back down, another shocker. Its the cycle of the earth.

    I laughed. Summer happens.
And this is supposed to be a fact?

I just blew 7Up through my nose and it's all over my screen. Please give a

I agree, there is no equivalency. Cook is a solar physicist, Watts is a radio weathercaster who doesn't even hold a college degree.

What are you talking about? Alternative energy research is the only solution. I'm sorry this isn't a movie and there's no eleventh-hour discovery that renders our reliance on fossil fuels irrelevant. Tell me again about how volcanoes are putting out more CO2 than humans and other climate denier fables.

Oh please. Without motivated reasoning, any serious look at the academic consensus on climate change would be overwhelming. Tell me, when 97 doctors tell you have cancer, but 3 don't, who are you going to go with?

And seriously, undersea volcanoes are your answer for all this CO2 in the atmosphere? Another great example of cognitive bias.
