it is unbelievable how this situation is being handled. Ebola has been around since 1976 and has no cure. Every outbreak is a different mutation.

50/50 proposition you live or die if your lucky and get great treatment. if you live you get to experience joint pain, infertility, mental illness and many more!

 

If you suggest restricting travel from infected countries, the left calls you "racist" and "panicking".

Other countries are doing it..... it's common sense.

I could see myself voting republican again for many reasons - but what annoys me is how easily the GOP wants us to expand internationally. I'm tired of foreign wars and our unending love of Israel. What about just worrying about America ?

And yet our dear leaders maintain the borders must be kept open. A familiar tune but wholly irrational.

 

maybe Shepard Smith should call the international community and tell them not to worry. 4,500 per month coming in from nations with severe outbreaks. dont worry though....the CDC has been preparing for this....at least thats what they are saying. meanwhile hospitals and nurses have no clue what to do.

 

First, it wouldn't come over here... until it did. Then we were assured we could control this... except that we demonstrated we couldn't even handle one patient without infecting (at least) two more people. Then we were assured we could contain it... until one of the newly infected patients took the disease with her to Ohio. Meanwhile - and this is arguably the biggest problem of all - there are more people being infected with this every day in West Africa. That number needs to stop going up, then it needs to start going down.

 

also remember the 54,000 is through air traffic only. our northern and southern boarders are wide open.

 

150 people per day? That's like a drop in a faucet. And only a small percentage of those people actually have ebola. If this was meant to spook me it's not working.

Just try not to shake hands with anyone who flew in from these countries and you're good.

 

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not because that would completely cripple our economy and permanently destroy our status as a super power. You can't expect to be a leading economic super power and not allow any immigration whatsoever.

 

Tell that to the suffering people that have gotten it or may very well get it.

The economy is global and growing increasingly so. Decreasing the amount of immigrants you take in also decreases the amount of people in your country capable of understanding and working with foreign countries. It will become more expensive to do business outside of America. And that would cripple us. Our one biggest strength in the global economy is that we are a melting pot capable of interacting with just about every culture in the world. Not a lot of other countries have that advantage.

 

The only two people to be infected in the US were in Texas. We need to wall off Texas, they're dead already!

The amount of people I physically touch other than my fiancee every day is countable on my hand. The amount of people with ebola I've touched is non existent. I'm not worried. Let the CDC do their job. They're experts.
