Perhaps he should have dropped some bombs on Japan for their warcrimes during WW2? How far back do you want to go Goober? Perhaps a few drone strikes into London as well?

It is my view the rise of ISIS or ISIL and the willingness of the Sunni population in Iraq to accept them or at least view them in a more favorable light than the Maliki Government can and should be laid directly at Maliki's feet. Maliki's army fleeing without firing a shot is also Maliki's fault. He was the one who replaced competent military leaders with those whose only qualifications was being loyal to Maliki. It was Maliki through his policies of heavy handedness on the Sunni population that turned them against him. It was Maliki who wanted all U.S. forces gone. Maliki was the one who sowed the seeds for the present day rise of ISIS.

Perhaps Obama did ignore dire warnings about ISIS, but exactly what did anyone expect him to do when the government of Iraq was busy destroying all that was accomplished prior to our pull out. Which by the way is what the majority of Americans wanted at the time. One can debate on what Obama is doing now, if it is enough or not. But the bottom line the rise of ISIS in Iraq falls squarely on Maliki's shoulders or at his feet, either one will do.

No one is claiming that Maliki is an innocent bystander in this mess. In fact what you claim is factual. Our intelligence reports explained that fully to Obama before his momentous withdraw and total abandonment of Iraq. The fact that we did control Iraq until Obama was elected and his refusal to accept the intelligence evaluation is indicative of the irresponsibility of this administration. Democrat majorities in the Houses of Congress did the same in Vietnam by cutting off the funding to the SV gov't. Repeating the same mistakes of the past do not serve America or the people.

You are correct about history, those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat its same mistakes. I am more interested in his actions now than how we got here when it comes to ISIS.

I think Obama wanted to be the best domestic president ever and his forte is domestic policy regardless of how you view it politically. I always had a feeling he wan't much interested in foreign policy. That his foreign policy follows the polls. Back in 2011 the majority of Americans wanted us completely out of Iraq, Obama got us out of Iraq. But a few month ago the polls showed the majority of Americans wanted action against ISIS but no troops on the ground. That is exactly what we have now. There are more examples, but I think you get my drift. I wonder if the situation arises that to be successful in containing and defeating ISIS that boots on the ground are required if he has the mental toughness to go against the polls if the polls keep on saying no boots on the ground.

Obama's each and every action is politically and poll driven. Obama has no impetus be successful against ISIS or even Iran. Obama's aim is the Fundamental Transformation of America to a third world status answering to his Marxist handlers. The answer lies in the open mike conversation with Medvedev. That is why there is unrest in the ME, Korea, China, and yes manufactured racial unrest in America.

Are you referring to Bush brushing off the warnings about Bin laden to play golf?

no one expected Iraq to just throw down their arms, take off their cloths and run....

if Iraq is not willing to defend their country, not much we can do about it, unless we want to be their personal military at their every beck and call, which I think no one wants

Nah never mind the fact that Iraq was no threat before Republicans declared war on them for no reason. I will continue to roll my eyes at the simpleton that blame Obama for the Iraq War.

Gates Warns Of Security Problems In Iraq After U.S. Withdrawal
http://www.rferl.org/content/gates_warning_iraq_security_us_withdrawal/2312222.html
February 17, 2011 -- U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates says Iraq will face major security "problems" if U.S. troops leave the country by the end of this year as planned.

It's apparent that Obama and his appointees refused to listen to those more aware of the problems in Iraq. Today we pay for the wrong and incompetent decisions made by Obama and his Party co-conspirators. With the rise of al Qaeda/IS and the disintegration of Iraq and it's army.

they will never be perfect, we could be there for the next 10 years and they wont be, we either accept that and let them try, or we become their personal military for eternity

we know what you are referring, the question is, do we want to spend the money to be their personal military and have our men and women serve over there forever?

sometimes you have to take the training wheels off... if they fall, which they did, we can help them out a bit like we are doing, but we don't be their training wheels forever, we can't afford the $$$,Blood, and lives of our Military forever.... easy to say spend all this money over there, harder to justify it being worth the cost...

and if you remember, it was Iraq that asked us to leave and Bush that set up the withdraw timeline, fact is, until they are willing to risk their lives to save their own country, they will never be able to defend it... we can only do so much

Sometimes it is good to look back in history to see the benefits and mistakes made in the past, such as our residing forces that have remained in some cases until today in modified forms in Germany, Japan, and South Korea. Had our forces remained in Iraq as the former countries indicated there would not be the unrest in Iraq or the loss of South Vietnam due to Democratic Party incompetence. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory seem to be standard procedure for the Democratic Party and their leaders.

Former US Ambassador to Iraq James Jeffrey told Greta Van Susteren that Obama was warned about ISIS months ago but did nothing.

Ambassador Jeffrey made the comments after Barack Obama blamed the intelligence community for being caught off guard by the rise of ISIS.
National Review reported:

James Jeffrey, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq from 2010 to 2012, pushed back against President Obama’s claim that the intelligence community was caught off guard by the rise of the Islamic State, claiming the White House knew all about the jihadist group’s destructive potential.

In a PBS Frontline documentary to air this week, the ambassador explained that the administration “not only was warned by everybody back in January, it actually announced it was going to intensify its support against ISIS with the Iraqi armed forces. And it did almost nothing.”

Those armed forces crumbled six months later around the Iraqi city of Mosul, fleeing by the tens of thousands as Islamic State fighters captured the city and abandoned U.S. military equipment. It took two more months after that for the United States to finally intervene, bombing the jihadists as they cornered ethnic minorities and advanced within miles of the Kurdish capital of Erbil.

So how many people appointed by Barack Obama have to say that Obama was warned about al Qaeda/IS to gain strength. All the while Obama kept telling us that Osama was dead and al Qaeda was on the run. BTW at least 180 detainees released by Obama went back to fight under ISIS banner. Jeffery has warned not to release these hard core terrorists.
