I find these polls very interesting given the left press touting Obama's wishes at every chance. People aren't buying his Gruberistc crap. They aren't as stupid as he would like to believe.

No. That's NOT it. Half our population is truly compassionate. And when they hear the horror stories of what is happening south of this border, they are inclined to consider some level of compassion. My problem with it is the FOLKS WHO WAITED IN LINE LEGALLY, the folks who are great risk in other parts of the world. I think the ones closest to the border who came here illegally shouldn't be rewarded because of georgraphy and certainly not above who were turned away or are in line. That to me IS unfair. (THINK OF THE IRAQIS who worked with us who were NOT allowed to come here--they're probably dead now). Overall CANADA took in almost triple what we allowed to immigrate. And it was OUR war! Sweden for chrissakes took in more than we did!)

Nope you are wrong. For about a year and half or even 2, Americans, poll after poll, have said they think there should be a way for these people to become legal citizens. The numbers are pretty consistent. The unilateral Obama 'mandate' is a NEW factor. We'll see how it trends.

Yes, not as disastrous as some would want it to be but its still in the negative. The main problem here is that it is going against the voters and just piles on top of everything else that the democrats are doing that are not resonating with the people. Sure, they are all relatively small things but when you add them up it turns into one seriously big problem. If we look at the polling it is the democrats who are pretty much on the wrong side of every issue, at least according to the polls, and this is validated by their losses in the midterms. They can talk all they want about how what they are doing is right but its going to work against them in 2016.

There is a way for them to become legal citizens but it takes a long time. I have been thru the immigration process with a relative and it is no cakewalk. I would agree our immigration system could be improved upon but it isn't "broken" as some politicians would have you believe. The problem is that the US is a very popular place and many people want to come here to live. If the US truly opened it's borders up like some want we would be over run until the standard of living was crap. Why do I say this? Because I have lived abroad and know many, many folks who would come here to live if given the chance. I have seen where they live and I do not blame them.
That is the danger and politicians are playing the American people on both sides of the issue. This problem could be solved and should be but not in the interests of politicians but in the interest of American citizens. I can't believe how naive a vast majority of people are. If they realized the truth they would be protesting in Washington and screaming to close the border. Instead they feel bad for the poor "immigrant" and are suckered in to believing the crap politicians put out.

The unemployment rate in the black community is like 30%, with young black males being around 60%.... What's Obama's and the democrats agenda? to keep blacks on welfare indefinitely? As far as this big address goes tomorrow night, I believe Obama really doesn't yet know exactly what he is going to propose. I think he's just making stuff up as he goes. He's possibly the most unqualified and least prepared president in US history.
