    why were they ESCORTED OUT of the area by uk navy forces out of the territory? if it was just a routine exercise..

    I believe it is protocol to provide escorts to foreign military ships that pass through your waters.

    Escalation of what?

    It looks like the ships were taking the quickest way home and when they passed through British waters they received an escort.

    Not sure what your seeing here.

    Obama really should not have let this happen. If Russia is going to be an agitator nation Obama needs to take the lead as the POTUS and not let our allies give aid to the enemy.
