Kind of reminds me of my Star Trek/Star Wars Micromachine collection that I built up over the course of a few years. I still have them and I won't get rid of them because I calculated that I spent nearly $1000 dollars. I have literally hundreds of them. I actually played a made-up version of table top gaming with them with my brother. We would use rulers to measure distances that they could travel. I wonder how they do movement with cloaked ships? We just had a piece of paper outline the room with some identifiers like pictures or chairs as a outline. The person moving a cloaked ship would then draw lines showing the course he was taking so there was proof that he actually used that path just so that they couldn't change their mind at the last second if they wanted to decloak somewhere else. It got a bit complicated and we sort of gave up on it.

These days I just play the Fleet Ops mod for Star Trek Armada II. Lots of fun.

Basically the same idea. We have movement dials that everyone selects, then lays down. Then we move by captain numerical initiative and we use specific length pieces that are represented on the dials. Cloaked ships flip their shields and get 4 extra defense dice and can't be target locked.
