Obviously there was something in the request that was objectionable to the business. Otherwise, like you said, they would have baked their cake.

Let's haul out the violins to play pity music for the poor bigots, who have to obey this nasty old law that makes them treat everyone equally.

We bigots DEMAND to be permitted to break the law in peace, because our conscience says so![/QUOTE]

If it was so obvious, then you should be able to tell us what it was that made the request objectionable.

You mean, obey the laws? Already doing that. If you mean breaking the law, SAY so.

Such laws are contradictory and violate human rights. They are also discriminatory and selectively enforced.

The fact is that no business is a public accomodation and no one sells anything to the public.

The fact that they did not wish to sell the product to a select customer proves it was objectionable.

It does not matter why. It is a basic human right to discriminate and these laws forbidding select minorities to exercise that right are abominable.

What is good and right and true is to fight such disgraceful laws which intrude on human rights for a select minority.

    The bible is irrelevant myth.

It is self evident that everyone has the right to discriminate and laws forbidding that right are disgusting

Until that unlikely supposition might becomes a reality, comments and claims like this will simply continue to be BS.

I have a new business model for them.

Make more cakes by actually holding a public business. Oh and actually follow the laws. More money for them.

Nothing legally objectionable, or we wouldn't be here discussing it.

No, we discuss everything. For instance, legal or not, homosexual marriage is an immoral absurdity.

Too you it might be. To anyone who isn't attempting to push their religious belief on everybody else, it is a contractual obligation, just like regular marriage is. Again nobody asked the baker to marry a gay person, they just wanted a cake, no strings, orgies, or deviant behavior involved/attached.

They are under no obligation to serve you something they do not offer to the general public. That's just the way it is.

Right and the same way a Church only offers Opposite gender marriages, so asking for same gender marriages is not on the menu for the general public.

A church is not open to the public and not a business. Plus, no church can be required to perform same sex marriages. What is your point?

    - - - Updated - - -

Only for you and people like you. To others it's just marriage.

I am making a point that carries over to the Bakery, the Bakery makes only certain type of Cake for certain events. They have made a decision not to cover the gay marriage events, they have a right to do so, just like a Halal grocery has a right not to serve ham samiches.

It's really a pretty simple concept: if you sell wedding cakes to the public, you are obliged to sell wedding cakes to the public. You DO NOT have the right to withhold wedding cakes from people you do not like. If you sell wedding cakes to the public, you are NOT obliged to sell lawnmowers to the public. See how that works?

    MOD EDIT - Rule 8

The complaint is with the state that allowed this anti-discrimination legislation. Change it or GTF OUT! You can't complain about a law you allow to stand AND THEN VIOLATE.

MOD EDIT - Reply to Deleted upwards of $150,000 to be paid to the homosexuals because the baker would not scribe homosexual words upon a cake.

This crap will put a wedge between those choosing the gay life and the rest of the world. You are not going to bludgeon people into accepting a deviant sexual lifestyle

I can't wait to get classified as an aging, former military man with hemorrhoids. I will then demand special seat cushions and bidets in every restaurant I visit.
