New York's Plot to Gut the Second Amendment

Naw, no one wants to confiscate your firearms, well, except for the gun grabbers as outlined below. The imperial authoritarian left is at it again.

It would take a lot to start another Civil War. A nationwide gun grab is one of those things.

I hope the SAFE act will go the way of the DC ban. I think Heller v DC will be a guideline. Good post

Rights in private property are secured in State Constitutions not our federal Constitution and especially not our Second Amendment.

Only the right can't seem to tell the difference.

If they are able to circumvent the second amendment on a national level it will result in open rebellion

New York is a very totalitarian State, and it's not just when it comes to gun laws.

That being said, the Second Amendment was never originally intended to apply to the States.

Maybe NY should set up checkpoints at all points leading into their State, and then anyone who really wanted to live in a society of complete gun control could go move there.

Then the New York government should be honest about their intentions and we'll see the reaction of New Yorkers. Judging by their reaction to the Safe Act, I don't think it will be pretty.

What keeps the Feds from pressuring the states to outlaw guns? They threatened to withhold highway funds if states didn't raise the drinking age to 21 and again to make them lower speed limits. We need to go back to having states select Senators. States have lost their influence and power and are being ran over by the feds.

Total prohibition and complete confiscation is the end game.

Do not allow anyone to tell you otherwise.

once again you show everyone that you have no clue about the constituion, if you did you would know about the 5th and 14th amendment that secures private property. it is called due process.
now the 2nd amend says that people have the right to own guns. Guns are property thus they can not be taken without due process as stated in te 5th and 14th amend. Please try and actaully study the constituion before you make more stupid statements about how the constitution does not protect property

The sad fact is that New York State is controlled by the big city leftist in the city. They are the people who pushed this foolishness threw. Hopefully the court will do their constitutional and defend the right of every citizen to bare arms.
