which is also the only kind of source you'll find stating that the GLB act played no part in the recession.. the general point being that the president does not drive the economy, these economic patterns are years and even decades in the making. For example, you site Harding's policies as one of the causes of the depression, who was president nearly 10 years before the depression hit.

No, I'm not saying Hoover caused the depression, which is my point exactly.. because the president is not a pilot of the economy, these economic declines and recoveries are years in the making, they always have been

 

Actually, a lot of people outside the US are buying that. It's a fairly common (mis?)conception that the American conservative right is deeply uncomfortable with women, blacks, exotic names, and socialist democrats in leadership roles. Obama strikes out on all but one.

Even in my own nation (far less conservative than America), when our first female leader was voted into office, the conservative right went postal. No leader before or since has suffered as much vitriol from the right as this woman did. She wasn't worse than any previous left leader, and was considerably better than some. Further, the vitriol was often of a personal nature - revealing the true nature of the discomfort.

Lowering Investment banks capital requirements, Net Capital rule
Reversing the Clinton rule that restricted GSEs purchases of subprime loans
Lowering down payment requirements to 0%
Forcing GSEs to spend an additional $440 billion in the secondary markets
Giving away 40,000 free down payments
PREEMPTING ALL STATE LAWS AGAINST PREDATORY LENDING


But the biggest policy was regulators not enforcing lending standards.

I can understand that misconception if the propaganda of the left filters through onto the internet. There maybe some confusion of terms regarding conservative/liberal, left and right considering your countries politics and religion.

The left wants blacks to feel they are for them and panders to them all while doing them a disservice of keeping them poor and jobless, stuck in ghettos and public housing, and bad crime riddled neighborhoods. They don't want the truth of their history of racial discrimination and segregation to spread.

Then when conservative blacks or women do run as republicans, they are viciously attacked like Allen West, Ted Cruz, and Sarah Palin. Democrats treat blacks as if they are still their slaves and treat conservative blacks like runaways.

Like your female leader, Palin has been attacked like no other person in our history.

I hope that your internet access helps you understand our form of government better, and I hope that your country and other countries become more free as well. Economic, social and religious freedom make all nations better and the people happier.

Sorry, 3Link, but the Party of Hatred is clearly Democrat. Not democratic, of course, but Democrat. They hate Justice Thomas, Thomas Sowell, and any other black person they can't use and abuse. The Democrats get a heck of a deal. They get millions of votes in exchange for ghettos, non-performing schools, and no jobs.

President Obama's legacy will be an impossible hurdle for another black person trying to get the Democrat nomination. It will be 100 years before the country forgets President Obama.

Obama's ties to the Muslim Brotherhood makes Obama the first American president considered a traitor to America.
