in the 2000 election Gore won the popular vote, but lost the electoral college vote. He would have won the electoral college if Nader had not run in Florida, but thats a topic for a different time. So when that happened, democrats sucked it up and and after a few months of grumbling lost of them let the issue go. What would republicans do if Obama won by the electoral college and not by the popular vote though? Throw a conniption fit? Or would they get over it and be sports about it like the dem's were?
Dems were sports about it? What world do you live in? You guys are so petty you took the W off the keyboards.
Defengar posted: "...democrats sucked it up and and after a few months of grumbling ost of them let the issue go." Taxcutter says: Hogwash! Democrats are still whining about the GOP not letting them steal the 2000 election.
When have the pubs been "sports" about anything related to politics in the history of the world? They are the most divisive, destructive, blatantly hateful group of ideologues this nation has ever been exposed to. The death of the US will be directly related to the stubbornness and ignorance of the Republican party and their blind, foolish base. In the last 30 years, they've set this nation further behind, relative to the rest of the world, than anytime since our nation itself was founded.
I don't think you remember it how it really happened. Libs are still angry to this day about the 2000 election and are convinced that Bush "stole" it. In fact, some of them were still so angry in 2004 that they accused him of "stealing" the election from Kerry even though it wasn't nearly as close.
Given how "great" everything turned out due to the Bush presidency, I'm sure most on the left, given the chance to do it all over again, would simply have stood still and done nothing. I mean, how you turn a great economic situation, a great global diplomatic situation and a great fiscal situation in the federal government into the mass chaos and destruction Bush did in his 8 years of "leadership" is beyond me. How many presidents have left office after 8 years with the economy LOWER than it was when he entered, a budget deficit trillions greater than when he started, and a world that suddenly hates what was the most loved nation on Earth just 8 years earlier, even AFTER they were attacked by thugs and terrorists? Yeah, the left should have shut up and let the GOP destroy the country. After all, that's what they want to do again, and that's what they WILL do if they can somehow steal this election from Obama through their lies and manipulations.
Wanna bet 10,000 credits ? I used to have them before the jump... I like taking moderators reps down.. Romney 56 % Obama 42 % It aint gonna be close.
The exact same thing. If the courts rule that some votes are invalid for whatever reason, I will not kick and scream and whine and demand endless recounts. I will demonstrate a level of maturity that was completely absent from the butt-hurt liberals in 2000. LOL! No they didn't. Democrats complained about it endlessly. For years after the fact. We would accept the outcome! Seriously, you people just don't get it...our President is not elected by popular vote. This isn't new...it has always been like this in modern times. It has been like this for every President, both Democrat and Republican. It is juvenile and retarded to demand a change in the system ONLY when the results do not turn out as you would like them to. I do not recall any liberals complaining about the electoral system before the 2000 election. And I suspect that had the situation been reversed they still would not have complained. It was only unfair and undemocratic after THEY lost.
I'm not a republican ill answer anyway, there happen to be more democrats in america then republicans so probably fox would explode with outrage along with a number of other news outlets... and the issue would blow over, in time, perhaps in their own circles they would make more noise as there are more religious folk among them, however since when has that been able to challenge politics in recent memory?
This time around, it makes little difference who is elected US president, since the US economy is no longer in the hands of most of the population, 90% of whom are living off 5 Trillion GDP, while 10%(the wealthy) have 10 Trillion of GDP. That proportional disparity should increase in the next 10 yrs,(IMO), to about 90% of GDP controlled by about 5% of population. Then NDAA 2012 provisions can be implemented, to keep the population of people, the other 90%, who will own nothing, have no jobs, and no income, from becoming a violent mob. Or, a few mobs may form which will then be terminated by Predators flying above, after having been classified as terrorists by CIA., or by executive order.

As long as there were no excessive voter fraud, the Rs would not be jerks about it like the Ds were. The Rs have been too lenient with the D fraud for years i.e. Nixon/Kennedy etc. No doubt Obama will facilitate fraud as much as he can.
Given that Obama is not constitutionally allowed to be voted on for president or vice president in 2016 we would raise hell about it. As for the Democrats getting over it in 2000, get real. The core of Bush hatred was always about the 2000 election with the underlying thing about the Iraq invasion being that Bush "had no right" to take the U.S. to war after winning the presidency in such manner.
This thread shows that liberals have not given it up after a few months. It is 2015 and you are still talking about it.
LOL! Democrats 'sucked it up'? They whined, wailed and sniveled for years up to today!! - - - Updated - - - I still see librul posters on political forums crying about 2000.
Sucked it up? What alternate reality do you live in? First off, the left had it's usually help from the media which announced Gore had won before the polls closed and people waiting to vote went home. Second, there was the appeal from Gore to have a recount but only in certain Democrat counties and with Democrat psychics determining how people who voted for Bush really inteded to vote and then there was the hanging chad. And, for eight years, the Democrats said the election was stolen. Now, since you slept through civics class, even if Gore had won the popular vote it would have been immaterial. The election isn't decided by popular vote. It's decided more often by Democrat fraud.
Why the hell did you necro a thread from 4 years ago? - - - Updated - - - This is a thread I made in April 2012... and If you didn't notice, a conservative was the one who necro'd this...
