    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/univisions-rodner-figueroa-fired-michelle-781023

He lost his job of 17 years for one comment, a stupid comment, but still a comment. He should have just stuck with the Bush/Monkey comments and he would have been promoted. Ahh, the liberal media hypocrisy. Can you imagine how many would have been fired for making fun of Sarah Palin?

The far right's new tactic is to be racist by denying saying things like this is racist. No First Family has had these underhanded type of comments made about their looks and appearance. But I look forward to the right wingers on this forum justifying, defending, and deflecting from the disgusting thing this host said.

It's apparently an outrage and firing worthy when Bashir bashed Palin, but bashing the Obamas is fair game, huh ? What a joke.

Didn't you call for Martin's firing when he made vile comments about Palin ? HYPOCRITE.

    I looked into it:

He's one of those "white Hispanics", so the left felt like it was safe to make an example of him. If he would have been a few shades darker, this would have been a typical "blue on blue" type story and we likely wouldn't have heard much about it.

I remember a time when it was considered poor manners to attack the spouse of a politician.

You can blame Democrats for that, started back in the 1980's with Nancy Reagan.

And while that is not true it has the added attraction of being ridiculous.

When you represent a company and you use your Freedom of Speech unwisely, do not be surprised when the company decides you are no longer a good representative for their company. Consequences, we have no freedom from them.

Ah yes, the predictable conservative assigning of blame rears its ugly head. Does not matter who did what first. It used to be poor manners to attack a family member of a politician (unless the family member is being politically active).

LOL - he's about as Mexican and South American as a zebra. Guys like this are basically Europeans who were born in Mexico or South America. But that doesn't justify anything he said.

Exactly, conservatives thinks freedom of speech means freedom from consequences. If your boss is black and you call him a ******, how long to do expect you'd keep your job?

Well it is time we started treating folks equal....isn't it? Famous people get lampooned all the time. Michelle is no better than anyone else. Deal with it.

You remembered a time when it was "bad manners" to insult the wife of a President. That change occurred primarily because of Democrats. That may be an uncomfortable "icky" fact for you, but that's your issue to deal with. No need to lash out at me for it.

They sure are. The GOP will never get past the notion that they are the racist party as long as they deny obvious racism is racism. To most non-racists, this is the same as defending the comments while admitting they are racist. Most people aren't stupid enough to believe those that defend these type of comments aren't racist. Go ahead with your obviously false denials to this post though. I know they are coming.

That was my point. He was a "white Hispanic", which is why the left went after him in response to his comment. If he looked like one of these guys:

this story wouldn't have gotten any traction in the media.

No need. Unless you're REALLY stupid, you know the difference. You don't need me to tell you how saying an African American woman looks like "planet of the apes" is racist. You don't need me to explain how it's different than comparing a picture of a white person making a facial expression a monkey would make to a monkey in terms of racism. You are showing your true colors brightly by defending racism. See, people who aren't racist don't defend racism.

Right because the left has NEVER called the Bush twins sluts and other things of the sort. The left NEVER made fun of a mentally disabled child, or thrashed a whole family because they were the wrong political party and said the same kind of vile stuff.

Yes, the lefts tactics are well known, you people are no less despicable when it comes to this. Stop trying to take the high road.

Comparing black people to monkeys or apes has typically been used by racists to imply that black people are lower on the evolutionary scale than whites. Of course, you know this, you're just feigning ignorance to make it seem as if all insults are equal.

Now, here's more information for you: any company can fire anyone if they feel that person does not represent them properly. Get over it. That's life.

The Democrat Party is full of racists, as well. Mexican nationalists trying to reconquer the American Southwest for Mexico. Black liberation theology adherents who want to "kill some cracker babies". White guilt progressives who hate members of their own race and think so little of the abilities of minorities that the only cure is more "programs" from their white progressive overlords.

Of course, it's obvious that progressives don't really oppose racism per se.... just certain kinds of racism that do not benefit a left-wing social agenda.
