Agreed about progressives, hence my tag. But calling Michelle Obama an "ape" is straight up bigoted.

I'm sorry but if someone resembles something, it does not matter what race they are. There are white people that look like monkeys (Ben Stiller, George Bush) and yes there are black people that do look like monkeys.

Now, if you call the whole race of black people monkeys, then yes I agree that would be racist. But im sorry, look at the pics and tell me she don't resemble to monkey due to the facial expressions lol.

It is what it is, and yes it is getting to the point where ANY criticism of blacks is being labeled as racist. It is past ridiculous.

 

All this tells me is that white women are intelligent enough to take advantage of their opportunities and work hard to be successful. While on the other hand, other groups think that getting a free boost to the front of the line still entails too much work.

Her primer on college admissions begins with the basics: application deadlines, the relative virtues of the SAT versus the ACT and how many Advanced Placement tests to take.

Then she eases into a potentially incendiary topic — one that many counselors like her have learned they cannot avoid.

“Let's talk about Asians,” she says.

Lee's next slide shows three columns of numbers from a Princeton University study that tried to measure how race and ethnicity affect admissions by using SAT scores as a benchmark. It uses the term “bonus” to describe how many extra SAT points an applicant's race is worth. She points to the first column.

African Americans received a “bonus” of 230 points, Lee says.

She points to the second column.

“Hispanics received a bonus of 185 points.”

The last column draws gasps.

Asian Americans, Lee says, are penalized by 50 points — in other words, they had to do that much better to win admission.

I obviously see and acknowledge the racism of those in the antebellum south when it comes to comparing Black's to apes - but he is not responsible for their sins. We're all ape-like. Whether comparing someone to an ape is racist or not depends entirely on the context of that utterance.
