That such a stupid video could cause riots tells you more about the rioters than the people who made the video.

Pam Geller regardless of how one paints her, exercised her right to free speech and expression as guaranteed by the first amendment in an effort to prove she wouldn't be cowed by external threats to her physically to silence her. Selma was very much in that same line. Physical threats and violence threaten the marchers who wanted to utilize their right to free speech and expression to show they wouldn't be cowed.

Everyone should recognize this. When a threat of violence and death is condoned to stifle speech and expression in the name of security or fear of retaliation, it should be met head on. Not condemned.

Equating someone who wages an endless campaign against the religious freedom of Muslims with the civil rights movement is an insult to first amendment rights supporters no matter how you spin it.

So you are one who would curb one freedom of expression due to what? Political view points, political agenda, being cowed by forces who threaten to use violence against you if you speak up?

I am old school, I firmly believe in the old adage of, "I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend your right to say it." You start curbing free speech and the right of expression just because someone disagrees with you, sooner or later those folks will be on the other end and guess who will not be able to express their opinions.

You may hate Pam Geller and that is fine. You can freely express that hate. But regardless of who she is or what she stands for, standing up to a group who threatens violence if one says or draws something they do not like, I think is a good thing. How long do you think our free speech right and that of expression will last if we start muzzling people from expressing their opinions.

Today, we will stifle Pam and those who think terrorist should not curb our right to insult their religion. We insult Christians all the time, do we stop that too. What about flag burning, how far do we carrying the suppression of speech?

I didn't say anything about curbing her rights. I said that equating her with the civil rights movement is an insult. She's free to exercise her rights, but she's still a hypocrite who dedicates all of her efforts to stifling the rights of others. Attempts to paint her as some champion of the first amendment are way off base.

You're welcomed to your opinion. What I am champion her for is that she had the guts to stand up to terrorists who threatens violence or bodily harm to anyone who doesn't do as they say.

    LOL

When I expressed my opinion you accused me of wanting to curb her rights. I'm not surprised that you have such high regard for her hypocrisy.

The world is full of surprises. It is only on this site that I hear people condemning someone for standing up against those who want to curb free speech. I never heard of her before I seen a post about her on this site.

I will defend her right to draw cartoon pictures of Mohammad and I will or would defend your right to express your opposition to her. I have no problem with either. I do have a problem with those who threaten and use violence to stop one from expressing freely their opinions.

Maybe she is head of a hate group, I don't know. But I do know she hasn't cut off anyone's head of late for an opposing view.

What religious freedom do you refer to?
The right to shoot or behead the people that draw cartoons of Mohammad? That was the point of Geller's show in Garland...that Americans are free to exercise their freedom of expression whether it offends some or not.

I'm not sure you understand the issue or the point of this thread.

Fact is,it's an issue with free speech, and all the whining and moaning about hate and bigotry from the muslim loving left here can't disguise the REAL hatred of them threatening to KILL for daring to draw their pedophile 'prophet'

The rabid dogs that are attacking Pam Geller, by and large, are giving cover to jihadists and slowly paving the way for creeping Sharia law.
When Geller is shouted down by the anti civil libertarians for standing up for freedom of expression it will just become an act of leftist faith that it's "rude" and "mean" to draw Mohammad and one by one, our liberties will be given away, by people that have no appreciation for our liberties, to people that have no use for them.

But first they must overcome people like Geller who understand that Islam is being used to erase our liberties.

    wrong to oppose Jim Crow?

wrong to protest against the KKK and Neo-Nazis?
