I agree that he's not in it to win it, but your noble presumption of his motivation lacks a healthy dose of skepticism. Bernie Sanders is running for one purpose only: to demonstrate how moderate Hillary is. The DNC gave Sanders his marching orders and he's happy to play along because he'll get to talk about all the things he thinks are important on a national stage. But make no mistake, Hillary will come out of this looking like the grand compromise between a left-wing socialist and a right-wing plutocracy. It's a clever strategy. The republicans will have to get their heads out of their asses if they want to defeat her, but it can still be done.

He doesn't expect to win but he would like to draw the debate to the left. He'll do a damn good job of it, too.

Nah. I figure that between them the warmongers G.W. Bush and Barack Obama have pretty much already covered the bases in that regard. The next president either GOPer or Dem will turn his or her face away from fruitless warfare to become the kumbaya champion that Barack Obama portrayed himself being waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2008 . . . but never was. Dem or GOPer president, they all end up having blood on their hands one way or the other. Although you have to admit that the height of ironic grotesqueness was when Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for -- giggle! Snort! Chortle! -- peace. I mean . . . sheesh!

I have made my first donation to the Bernie campaign. There will be more. Funny thing is, before Hillary announced, I used to hear people talk about her in the real world often. Since she has announced I do not think I have heard a single person even mention her name.

I've never heard anyone mention Bernie Sanders name outside of this forum. He's got a long way to go if he wants to beat Shillary.

He has just as far to go as Shillary.

That is due perhaps to ignorance of what a democratic socialist as many nations in Europe are. They only use some things that are considered socialistic, as if that word was somehow evil, when capitalism is much more evil in the way it operates.

I am donating to Bernie's campaign, for I am not voting for another Plutocrat. But plenty of white working americans will, as they are so uneducated and such an easy prey to right wing propaganda as to vote against their own self interest. And you cannot fix stupid.

The only socialist country in Europe is Belarus (also regarded as Europe's last dictatorship).

I've seen some dumb ideas by presidential candidates, but the idea of imposing a FTT to pay for public college tuition is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen. It would be a complete job killer and end up losing money rather than gaining hundreds of billions of dollars. This guy might be the most honest candidate we have running, but he clearly doesn't live in reality.
