I have heard some stories, but i would like to ask you here.
    May be some interesting details?
It's like : Using all of the sweety words that sound "healthy" even though the product is far from healthy.
"20% less fat" does not mean that it's healthy
"Diet" does not mean that it's healthy.
Do you know what I mean?

Our Daily Meds: How the Pharmaceutical Companies Transformed Themselves into Slick Marketing Machines and Hooked the Nation on Prescription Drugs

“Our Daily Meds” begins by illustrating the established drug-company practices that have led to this sorry juncture. There is the rigging of studies, so that to be deemed “effective” a drug need only perform better than a sugar pill. There are the promotional strategies that evade the need for F.D.A. warnings by, say, planting logos for the sexual enhancement drug Viagra and the antidepressant Wellbutrin on Nascar vehicles. There is the co-option of doctors and university researchers by aggressive, payola-dispensing drug company representatives.

Yep, I called Columbo regarding their yogurt label along with a few other companies. The container says fat free, but when you read the back it may say 100 calories 80 calories from fat. So 80% of every spoonful is fat but it sold on the front as fat free. After I raised a month long stink and threatened lawsuits, thanks to me you will now see a little asterisk next to the fat free* with a microscopic footnote that says
    *milk product
This means they used FAT FREE MILK! to mix in with your 80% pure fat.

Always turn the product around if it says fat free and check this. Calories from fat should be 0. If it isnt the company has lied to you, you should not buy it.
Turn over your Motts Apple juice, its says made in the USA, then it says a % of concentrate is from china, I called motts to see what the % was. It can be as high as 99.9999999% chinese apple juice, so basically the made in USA part is from the .00000001%

Industrial waste products like skim milk and margerine are now marketed as "health foods".

The absolute worst offenders were advertisers in marvel comic books from back in the 70s. From those, you could order your very own sea monkeys that looked like hot mermaids in the ad, but were in fact brine shrimp. Or your very own working polaris nuclear submarine, tha was actually a cardboard box that needed assembly. Or the x-ray glasses that would let you see naked chicks, when what you actually got were a pair of cheap frames with feathers where the x-ray lenses should have been. And of course the hypno-coin that would give you the ability to tell girls to do whatever you wanted, and they would have to do it because of this magic coin.

Those advertisements offered everything from bulging Mr. Atlas muscles to inflatable girlfriends to lustful prepubescent boys, but each and every one of them was a lie!

It was a lie, the girls called me a greaser.

Jack in the Box advertised that their tacos had beef filling. It was a lie, it was kangaroo meat. But when Jack in the Box got caught they switched to beef. I prefer the kangaroo tacos.

Wal-Mart use to advertise 100% Made in the USA! Got big business and then... bait and switch. (This was around when Pharmor went kaput)
    China baby. Narrow-eyed monster.
As a vet, that's the sole reason I don't shop there at all.

I'm sure everyone was upset by this. you know how McDonalds say all their burgers are made with/by/from (can't remember the exact word) 100% beef?
They're made by a company called 100% beef, who don't actually use... You guessed it, 100% beef.

I see so many commercials nowadays that don't even talk about the product so much as talk about caring. Buy their product because they care about people or animals or the environment or whatever. Alternatively, there are the commercials that say to buy their product because WE the consumer care about the aforementioned things.

It's annoying how much companies reach out to people based on an emotional outreach rather than any hard facts.

Performing better than placebo to a statistically significant degree is in fact the standard for judging a drug's efficacy, or lack thereof. This is the only logical means of scientifically determining if something works or not. You seem to be implying there is some sort of conspiracy in the use of that as the standard. Do you have a better alternative?
