    How about stopping the money siphon called the "War on Poverty"? We've spent more money on that than all of our wars combined.

    Contrary to popular right wing myths it has actually worked.

    Food stamps (SNAP) has saved thousands of farms (mostly in Republican states) and are costs recaptured by the use of the monies given to the poor. This unlike corporate military welfare profits that are sheltered overseas in tax free bank accounts - these funds are never recaptured. Medicare and Medicaid save lives which enable people to go back to work and remain productive. And, again, contrary to popular right wing myths, welfare payments have actually declined in recent years while military and corporate welfare remain high.
