Many people feel that the level of racism in the USA is getting worse. More hate crimes. More hate rhetoric. More hate speech. More hate speech being tolerated, or being hidden using code words. What do you think?
Yes, especcialy the normal, natural and christian marriage is being discriminated, by reason of the official legalization of the same-sex-marriage, in my opinion extremly bad, but the catholic church is being always persecuted almost all over the world.
Something tells me if things in the U.S. had just remained the same, the tensions that existed between the Black and White communities might have slowly healed by now, but instead 40 million illegals (and about just as many legal migrants on top of that) were dumped into the mix, putting a strain on resources, leading to a shortage in the supply of housing, and creating a jobs crisis, with all the social problems that go along with it, just adding more fuel to the fire.
I know that blacks, Hispanics and white progressive liberals are so embarrassed that Obama has been a complete failure as POTUS that instead of admitting they went stupid and put a community organizer into the White House they need to blame someone besides themselves and it brought out the hate mongering with in them . Even the SPLC are too embarrassed to list themselves on their own hate map.
If you look at the polls since Obama became president the answer would be yes. If you read political forums like this one, the answer would be yes. But going about my daily life, I would say no. But that doesn't mean we are not a divided nation. One of the main problems this nation has is the divide and conquer strategy utilized by the two major parties turning one group against the other in their search for votes. This is why I do not think the president has been a uniter, he has been more of a divider. When the goal of our politicians and political parties is to get us, the voter regardless of race, creed or what have you to hate the other guy more than you hate him so he can get you vote, sure hate is going to increase. you have no evidence whatsoever that illegal immigration has led to a jobs crisis. what has led to a job crisis, is corporations moving their manufacturing jobs overseas.
The evidence is all around you, plain for anyone to see. Don't try to blame the housing crisis either, because we know why so many new houses had to be built in the first place...
There's no doubt race relations are getting worse, much worse, but I'd suggest if a white person acted as Obama/Holder have, it would be the same. In fact I believe most voters thought race relations would improve, if only a Black person were elected but were fooled. Said another way, your trying to make another point and that is because Obama is Black, race relations have become worse, not the real story.
No.....people voted for Obama, because they thought for the most part, racism was over and Obama would prove it. What people missed, including myself to a degree, was racism can be displayed from any race, not just by whites. Most can handle Obama's race, but do have trouble with his policy....

No true racism has declined and that is the problem for the left because they have used racism or perceived racism to galvanized minority voters so because true racism is on the decline the left has to make up racism where it doesn't exist so to keep the false narrative alive which the over the top heated rhetoric the left has used to keep the false narrative going they have caused deep reverse racism
