Are you suggesting that the reason Mexican immigrants were specifically vilified was because of their nationality, and we have no such concerns with illegal immigrants from other nations?
Please you're not going to let a stone age people keep two continents. Hell, they didn't even have horses till Whites brought them. By your logic all land is stolen. Geez liberals.
im assuming that mexican's were mentioned because most illegal immigrants are from mexico. also im not a liberal so i dont assume everything is racist.
Him being allowed to stay in the United states killed her (he was an illegal after all). If he was deported, she would still be alive now... nice try though.. Please play again...
Of course, it's fairly common knowledge that ignorant folks (the most politically successful of which pander to other ignorant folks by fearmongering) have often referred to "Hispanic" or "Latino" people as "Mexicans". http://www.city-data.com/forum/general-u-s/1558857-why-people-think-all-hispanic-people.html https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101124064917AA3YhQh Of course, given that this is such common knowledge, I'll assume you aren't ignorant of the issue and are simply being argumentative in order to support the conservative bigot that is running for GOP presidential nomination. Classy.
" waaaah everyone's a bigot waaaah" mexico is still not a race its a country and citing yahoo answers isnt going to change that.
Citing several message boards and forums that demonstrate that it's common for all Hispanic folks to be referred to as "Mexicans" isn't meant to transform Mexico into a race. It's meant to demonstrate that when ignorant folks like Trump want to pander to their ignorant base, they fearmonger about anyone different from themselves using the language that their base understands... Which includes calling all Hispanic people "Mexicans". I'm assuming you're smart enough to know that, and that you're just being intellectually dishonest. If you're not being intellectually dishonest, and actually weren't smart enough to realize what was being said, I'll try to dumb it down for you.
Was it the Romulans? I bet it was the Romulans, A shifty lot those Romulans. Cardasians? Klingons? OH oh, an illegal immigrant, I thought that we had proof of UFO's there for a second, my bad. Hey, in other news, Americans are pretty good at killing each other too! Oh, are you mad that Mexicans might be taking that job away from hard working American killers? Don't worry too much about it. I'm sure there's plenty of murder for everyone regardless of their immigration status.
it demonstrates that a couple people on a couple websites did it once, it doesnt mean everyone does it. just calling someone a mexican doesnt make you a bigot no matter how hard you try and neither does pointing out the problems these people bring with them. its ok now go grab yourself a tissue, you can go ahead and completely ignore the real issue being talked about in this thread and cry like a little baby about irrelevant nonsense without me taking part.
Clearly you didn't bother reading the links I provided, since none of them were talking about individual occurrences... So, if someone assumes all white people are English - and then says a bunch of derogatory stuff about the English people - they wouldn't be making a hasty generalization based on your race and demonstrating bigotry? The real issue being discussed in this thread is a hasty generalization based on one ignorant politician's fearmongering over people with different skin color. By all means, feel free to stop taking part.
Can't speak for all Mexicans but most Americans of Mexican decent don't like being referred to as Hispanics but prefer Latino. That's why today you see a Latino box to check on the U.S. Census form.
Fair comment. My point was that terms shouldn't be interchangeable, but often are used that way - especially by those who are prone to making hasty generalizations.
I'm on the left coast so I rarely refer to Mexicans as Hispanics but as Latinos only because I got tired of my American friends of Mexican decent who said "Don't call me a Hispanic." Sorry for using Wiki as a source but I'm a little lazy this evening.
People from Mexico are... Mother (*)(*)(*)(*)ing Mexicans. Because Mexicans come from Mexico. That's not debatable. If they don't like being called Mexicans, maybe they should legally become citizens and then call each other Americans. Until then, you're from Mexico, you're a Mexican.
"I have absolutely no support for a city that ignores the strong evidence that should be acted on. ... If it were a first-time traffic citation, if it were something minor, a misdemeanor, that's entirely different," she said. "This man had already been deported five times. And he should have been deported at the request of the federal government." Guess who said this?
Even more than that, American Indians hadn't even evented the wheel before then! They had no written language, and were still drawing pictures on rocks to communicate! They hadn't invented paper, or even figured out how to make use of metal, which was plentiful! They still danced around a fire trying to make it rain, lived in mud huts and caves, and used sharpened sticks and threw rocks at wild animals to protect themselves! Their toilets were a hole in the ground, sanitation and medicine was non-existent, and they were constantly at war with other tribes who were equally backward! The white man brought civilization to a race that was thousands of years behind us on the evolutionary scale, and were virtually stagnant where every other civilization was progressing! Survival of the Fittest may not be acceptable by the PC crowd today, but it was both necessary and factual in earlier centuries! And I, for one, am tired of seeing us apologize for our superiority!
I know they weren't talking about individual occurances still it doesn't prove its "widespread." you need to prove someone is talking about people of a different skin color and you haven't. People could mean actual Mexican citizens or they could mean any nonamerican immigrating through the Mexican border. You're crying wolf after an assumption. You're still stuck on an issue that's irrelevant to the actual topic. You know this thread is about a shooting and not Donald trump right? You either didn't read the op or you're only here to cry about some other persons spilled milk like a little 4 year old.
No sh*t. But this has nothing to do with referring to all people from Central & South America as "Mexican".
Actually, Trump doubled down on his initial speech and clarified that he wasn't specifically talking about people from Mexico when he referred to "Mexicans". Fail much? Actually, the OP clearly was using this single event to validate Trump's assertion about "Mexicans". You clearly didn't read the OP or are only here to cry about someone pointing out blatant bigotry like a little 4 year old.
