Hello. I'm here to educate myself about the world ... and giggle. I like learning about current events and history but don't expect me to remember anything. New to forum life but i kinda want to find people to discuss politics, current events, literature and (for a lack of a better word) other stuff with. Nice to meet you (do people actually use the emoticons on this forum?, i havent looked around yet so i dont know)
Folks who discuss or write literature do not use emoticons. Hawthorne, Wolfe, Mann never used them. Neither Frost, Dante, or Shakespeare felt then need to draw little pictures of faces. Did you see smiley or frowny faces on the manuscripts of Euripides, Chaucer or Voltaire? For Shame! Welcome aboard anyway!!!
Goodnight/day/morning Current event and history, most important (and most difficult, even impossible to prevent, because it happened over and over again) Especially that history is lacking one detail in particular. That nobody ever wrote about the period before another dark period of history started to grow in a nation or society, because of the fact that for some reason nobody can see it coming (because everybody is part of the same system, impossible to see yourself being part of it and see what is going on) And that is what cannot be seen or sensed by most people, not even all seven billion. And that is why history continues to repeat over and over again. May the first writer start writing about it. But to accomplish that that writer need to start looking down on the society were the write is self part of, and place him/herself outside or above it, and reset his/her mind (become a sort of god, looking down on the system they are part of and start to see what the historical problem really is)
