Earlier this summer there was a domestic in texas where a man killed 8 people. this one from Alberta it was our 8th worst mass killing in the history of our country. In the news for weeks. That killing in texas didn't even make more than a blurp on cnn.

Still not finding any evidence that the shooter did not ask victims to state their religion.

Through statistics we can break crime down by per capita in which the USA has a statistically higher rate of homicides by firearms than Canada.

As I recall, in latest mass shooting in Kenia killers asked people to recite Qu'ran and killed these who failed.

    Similarity? Copycat?

I don't think having gun free zones at schools is the answer. Umpqua Community College had an armed police officer on campus at all times until a few years ago. The shooter was singling our Christians and killing them. The shooter is rumored to be a Mormon. Is the Mormon religion the basis of hate? Are guns the problem here? Or is it a crazy person who was urged forward to kill by lunatic and grossly irresponsible 4-chan forum members? It isn't just one thing, rather a combination of all of them. But the one constant in every mass murder is a seriously deranged individual.

And what can we do about the chronically mentally ill? In Oregon, absolutely nothing. Oregon was the setting of the novel "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey. The Oregon State Legislature wildly over-reacted to the novel and created some of the most restrictive laws in the nation for getting someone committed for being a danger to themselves and others. It is close to impossible to get an Oregonian committed for their own safety and welfare. So instead of mandatory mental health treatment, the mentally ill tend to gravitate to public transportation and soup kitchens to feed themselves. Perhaps the shooters parents tried to get their son the help that was required to prevent the shootings or perhaps they knew of the futility of trying. Either way, from the 4-chan postings, we know the shooter was pretty psychotic, and I doubt that his psychosis was unseen by everyone.

Before Oregon even looks at changing their gun laws, they need to re-evaluate their use of a popular novel as a model of mental health evaluation and possible commitment. There is a reason a state with a relatively small population like Oregon has had three school shooting and a mall shooting, a hugely disproportionate share.

No, it's a fact that 80% of Canadians live in urban areas.

What a shame this guy didn't blaze up and watch reruns of The Simpsons instead of shooting up the school.

A cone a day keeps the grand jury away ;)

Is there a large Mormon population close to that school? Your post prodded me to Google and there was another Oregon school shooter that was Mormon, but that one was back in June of 2014. That made me wonder if the rumor mill made a mistake or if it is some weird coincidence that both Oregon shooters were Mormon.

Through statistics we can break crime down by per capita in which the USA has a statistically higher rate of homicides by firearms than Canada. Here is a fact for you, most Canadians live within 100 miles of the USA border rather deep in the interior. A simple google search returned a result that 81% of Canadians live in urban areas.

Not a good comparison as Chicago, Detroit and Baltimore are cities whereas Canada is a country.

The only stats I need on England are your crime stats before and after your gun ban. Guess what, england never really had a gun problem to begin with. But your vassals to a monarchy and thus never tasted real freedom. I forgive the ignorance. But guilty? Haha the last feeling I have while reading your post is guilt. More like pity.

America and its second amendment his here to stay. English wannabe aristocrats looking down their nose at us withstanding or not.

If Obama is a Christian than why is he arming rebels to kill Christians in Syria?
Why is he allow rebels to burn down Christians churches?
This progressive Christian killer is only doing what Obama is funding else where.
