It was hilarious the wiggling that was going on. Hillary and her response to her unequivical support of use of military force where she lied about being hoodwinked into it. The email scandal. The tax the rich to pay for everything.

Cooper did ask for more responses to other candidates statements than I expected from his earlier in the day comments. But I think it was clear the fix was in from the DNC.

Yet the candidates records are more important than their assertions about what they will do if elected which was just a lot of bromides and platitudes last night.

Yep, the Republicans got to challenge each other and forced to defend their positions.............a real debate.

ROFL, he did himself no good last night.

    Which isn't saying much.

Yes, I don't think Biden say anything to prompt him into the mess the Democrats are in, the question is what happens when as appears a likely as not Clinton gets indicted or at the least shown to have skirted the law and endangered our national security with he shadow State Department.

Bernie looked like a fool. Free tuition at all state colleges? Full single payer. Who pays for that. He loves and admires Denmark for what they have done. They have a 180% tax on automobiles. That is so wonderful. They pay their citizens 23 cents per mile ridden on a bicycle. Who pays for that? Bernie needs to take a business course or two and figure out that money does not grow on trees.

Not one of the other candidates even took umbrage with that. More concerned with the Hildabeast's email problems, blaming everyone else in the world, even Bush, for her poor decisions.

Chaffee and O'Malley are morons. They had nothing substantive to add to the debate. Even argued with Sanders over the right of rural states not to have the same gun laws as more urbanized states do. Never mind that many who live in rural states such as Vermont live miles away from the nearest law enforcement. Of course I'm sure they were not miles away from their own armed guards, now were they? Chaffee says he is a block of granite. Partially right, he has the mentality of one, that is for sure.

Quite honestly, I am not sure why Webb wants to be a Democrat. He is a very smart and intelligent man. Not your typical draft dodger liberal like Sanders.

Sanders was a conscientious objector when it came to the Viet Nam War and is considered a hero for it. Better not try and use that excuse for not wanting to marry two half and halfs. The liberals will nail your bards to a wall over that one.

So, all in all a very amusing and interesting evening. The Rupubs have nothing to worry about over this lot. Biden will be tough, and after last night performance, he would be a fool not to enter the fray. As big a moron as he is, he is smarter than that whole lots, sans Webb.

So that brings us full circle back to the Hildabeast. Like Romney in 2012 she lacks the passion to motivate her base and that bodes very ill for her in the election, if she doesn't explode like a M-80 in the meantime.

I hear the draft Biden chants coming out of DNC Chair Marge Simpson's office growing by the day. God this is going to be funny watching you liberals squirm like a bunch of earth worms on the opening day of trout season.

    Cheers mates

germany is doing it, they even offer free tuition to american students

they understand that an educated society benefits everyone

except for the republican party, it hurts them

How US students get a university degree for free in Germany

Of 170,000 students in the capital city of Berlin, more than 25,000 are from outside Germany. In simple math, that's €332.5 ($364.3) million that Berlin spends a year on foreign students. The question is why?

"It's not unattractive for us when knowledge and know-how come to us from other countries and result in jobs when these students have a business idea and stay in Berlin to create their start-up," says Steffen Krach, Berlin's Secretary of Science.

There you go again, pretending the President has no role in the budget.

    - - - Updated - - -

I think he made a good point. Free high school? Why should we do that? Who pays for that? Medicare? Why should we do that? Who pays for that?

I was surprised that the thing was not simply puff piece questions. The only bias I saw was when the moderator asked the filed that silly question 'black lives matter or all lives matter' and then changed the question when it was time for Hillary to answer. The lack of a lot of serious questions on many issues was also telling...There is a lot more going on than stealing from the able to give to democrats in exchange for votes.

My share of the school tax in my town per year is $2,500. My overall property tax is $4,500. So that is who pays for high school, me and others like me in the town. So, who will pay for free tuition to the University of Vermont for anyone who qualifies for that school and is a resident of my town. I am glad you asked. Why that would be me and others like me in the town. That would necessitate the raising of property taxes again because many of us understand that money does not grow on trees and nothing in this world is free. Someone must write the check, whether is is free college tuition for one and all or free coffee and donuts at the car dealership on bargain day.

Has anyone even done a honest and forthright cost study of what free college tuition to all public colleges and universities in this country would cost. I'm not talking about the bulls**t studies we always see come from the right or the left to show what one of their pet projects or programs will cost, but, like I said, an honest and forthright study. I have not seen one.

Europe is always thrown in our face as the social utiopia where everything is free, life is good and everything is rainbows and lollipops. Are the American people both from the right and the left willing to turn over the majority of their money and for the Denmark lifestyle. Tell Joe Pickup his F-150 with an MSRP of $40,000 will now cost $100,000 including taxes, but to look on the bright side, he will get paid 23 cents for every mile he peddles his bicycle and tool bag 30 miles each way to get to work.

Come on people, lets get real here. This is not Europe. This is the United States of America. We are Americans for God's sake with our own lifestyle and freedoms. Lets try being less like the Euros and more like the Americans we are.

Yes this is spot on. I recently read that the vehicle tax in Denmark is 105% of MSRP up to about $11,000, and 180% on the remainder.
    https://www.cfe-eutax.org/taxation/road-tax/denmark

So the excise tax paid by the buyer on a $40,000 F-150 is 11,000*1.05+29,000*1.8

So the total tax comes to $63,750, hence the total price tag for your brand new F-150 is $103,750. That's just the sales tax when the truck is purchased. There is also a road usage tax, a "green tax," and a weight tax, and a gas tax such that gas has gotten close to $10/gal in recent times in Denmark.

Not really....our total annual bill for education is greater than the defense bill, military retirement and military health care combined. As our children are amongst the most poorly educated in the world, I do not believe we come close to getting what we pay for.

Right. We provide free high school because we recognize the benefit of an educated population. We basically provided free college (via the VA benes) to an entire generation following WWII, that help the US become the most advanced and powerful economy in the world.

As Sanders points out, college is the new high school. And we can pay for college the same way we do high schools. Or any other number of ways. He has a point. It would not doubt benefit our nation in the long run.

Who said anything about a sales tax?

We can be more like Americans used to be, can't we?

The fact that there were instances when candidates were asked about each others' policies - and it still didn't turn into the Jerry Springer sideshow that was the GOP "debate" - demonstrates you have no idea what you're talking about.

our children are not the most poorly educated

some nations only educate their best and brightest, so their test scores will appear higher, but they still have the stupid to average people too, they just don't educate them

we educate everyone, so count all of them in out scores

I hope you're not suggesting that some people are just smarter than others. Why should this make a difference?

why should it make a difference? if we took only the smart people and used their grades to show an average, our average would be higher... see how that works

the thing is we count everyone, they don't, thus they are scamming the averages, all the people they don't educate should count as zero's

As long as 'cultivate education' means paying the same educators who are not educating more money and benefits, then the phrase has nothing to do with education

"We can't afford Democrats who took the last Republican deficit of a paltry $161B to a whooping $1,400B in JUST TO YEARS."

Bush wasn't a Democrat. I keep telling you that but you keep throwing him in with the Democrats. I understand that the last Republican you guys put in office was a miserable failure and you wish he were a Democrat.

    Sorry. We don't want him.

'Excuses'? I am not making an excuse. There appears to be little relationship between money spent and an educated kiddie. That is a point, not an excuse. Now an excuse is when one says our kids are getting a crap education because we do not spend enough on education...
