Right now they don't care to much for Hillary and the Democrats. After seeing thru their BS for the last 6 years. They put a man before country, their own party, and their own careers.

Before all others and they showed they were willing to break rules to do it. The Filibuster being just one of them. This is all that's needed to gage their nature. Along with their politics by division.

Unfortunately youre right. At some point you have to remove a disease or the disease kills you. About all we have left now is an economy made up of imaginary dollars and nuclear weapons. Thanks Bush. Thanks Obama. And thanks to whoever the next idiot is too. Another ten years and we're dead.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

Witness the fact that the Cackling Cankle Hillary didn't say a single thing at the debate other than how much she hates Republicans.

    Uh ... not a fact.

You may want to check the definition of "fact".

I am an independent voter. I think you're misreading independents.

I seriously do not care about the political bickering, other than I wish is would stop. I am much more angry with Congress than I am with the President, as are most Americans. Congress holds the purse strings and has the ability to enact legislation that will help the economy and the people. Instead, they have chosen to be petulant, shut down the government, and vote 50+ times to repeal Obamacare, knowing that it was merely symbolic. I'm sick of petty partisanship. I want Congressional members to look past pork and re-election far enough to work on things that will solve our problems: fix crumbling infrastructure, encourage job creation other than minimum wages jobs, bring corporate interests back to this country and encourage entrepreneurs, find a way to make college and health care affordable, keep us as safe as possible, etc. The party that best addresses those kinds of issues will get the independent vote. The party that attempts to distract from those issues or not address them will not get the independent vote.

That would be Obama and the dems in the senate. The house constantly passes bills that would help create jobs but they die in the senate

There was an alternative to Obamacare Republicans offered that never got a single hearing in the Dem led Congress.

I think its a pretty good idea to stop Obama's amnesty, his huge debt increasing spending on stupid stuff like "global warming" (remember Solyndra? $500 mil of taxpayer dollars down the dumper). Lots of stuff, market oriented programs offered by Republicans that go to the Senate to die thanks to a Democrat filibuster.

None of that works. Infrastructure spending was part of Porkulus in the first part of Obama's presidency. Most of the money was wasted (e.g. new customs station on the Canadian border for a station that saw one or two visitors a day).

Placing blame on one side or the other is exactly the problem. Pointing fingers at each other is what they are doing now. I don't want them to sit there and point fingers. I don't care who is to blame. I don't care which party did it. I want the bickering and fighting to stop and for those elected to legislate to actually… you know, legislate. If the House knows they can't get a bill through the Senate, what is the point in doing the same thing a million times? Symbolic victories are not victories. If you can't make one thing happen, try doing something else that you can make happen. Congress has literally wasted time and money doing nothing. They have the ability to do so many things, yet they do nothing. That is why they have an 86% disapproval rating. Frankly, I'm surprised it isn't a 100% disapproval rating. There was a time when both sides actually talked to each other and not at each other. Congresspeople were statesmen and looked for ways to compromise and make laws that worked for America. Now they either hold their breath and turn blue, or take their ball and go home. I'm sick of the pettiness. It's not good for America or Americans.

So your point is that nothing will work, just give up and forget about it? I can't accept that. I'll take a political revolution before I accept this kind of status quo.

There is only one side blocking things. The House represents the will of the people and as I said it constantly passes bills. Then either Obama says he will veto it or it goes to the senate and never gets put up for a vote. Tell me who is to blame for that ?

    - - - Updated - - -

The only thing that will work is an all conservative government and I dont see that happening. Maybe we will get an all Republican government and that would be a small step in the right direction.

The question remains. Do we really have the systems to cope with a nationwide disaster? Is FEMA under Obama capable to deal with such a disaster or will we all be left to fend for ourselves. Then all we have to do is look at Katrina, and willful Democrat Governors and Mayors that refused assistance from a Republican president because of ideological reasons. A disaster on such a small microcosm multiplied by 49 states would be disastrous. Think of the electrical grid attacked by EMPs.

That was due to what she said before their Debate. She had already had equated Republicans to the Iranians, then the NRA and its members to Iranians and Communists.

Of course she does do this when she doesn't have to stand in front of someone that can correct her alternate reality.

The Democrats/Progressives and Liberals.(majority) Want no compromise. Bo Peep runs around the country casting blame on Repubs and talks about how their ideology is dead.

Even after 6 years. He also knows he was saved by Reid breaking the filibuster rule. Otherwise his ass would have had to do some more explaining in front of the American people. Even while having Democrats oppose him. Which then we don't get the Peeps later version in front of camera when he is out playing Celebrity.

I just explained it. An Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) attack.

EMP Attack Would Send America into a Dark Age

In a matter of seconds, an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack or a geomagnetic storm would set America back to the 14th century, Gale Nordling, president of a company ...

RT.com is a Russian propaganda website.
Anyone care to see if the claim of the amount of people on SSRIs is true?

I disagree. The House knows that it takes the House, the Senate, and a Presidential signature to make a bill a law. If they only had one part of that triad, trying to force something through is just not going to happen. Continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity…. but that is just what they did.

There are not enough conservatives in the United States to make that happen, so you are dreaming. Gallup says conservatives make up 38% of the American population. Moderates are necessary to get a conservative elected. If conservative political stances alienate moderates, they will vote for the more liberal candidate. Super-conservatives, like yourself, need to understand that they are not the majority view in America and they will not get their way without compromise and cooperation.

next terrorist attack will be another lone-wolf attack, just like the Boston Bombings.

    10 peeps may die...maybe 30.

    but we will move on.

Interesting thread. I think the children of the 70's didn't realize the consequences of their 'freedom'.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy.” Elmer T Peterson

How will that change under a Republican? Will they seize corporate farms and break them up into individuals plots, mandating the farmers only grow foodstuffs? Are they going to mandate all Americans keep an emergency supply of food and supplies? Will they pass tariffs greatly increasing the cost of consumer goods and hurting the majority of citizens to get those manufacturing jobs back?

Considering we'd probably be involved in a thermonuclear war at that point, we'll have bigger concerns.

If you want to have your bias stroked, have at. More learned people than a translator and activist have noted that there is an incredible resiliency in people during hard economic times. Angus Deaton is one of them, studies economics, and may have recently been awarded a School Spirit award or something along those lines.
