Did I justify the throwing of popcorn? I stand by my statement. The ex cop had a superiority complex. I'm not suggesting it is a common thing among cops, but it does happen. It is unfair for the OP to associate him with the typical CCW.

He shows a history of asserting authority as a civilian. I do not need to produce a certified document. If you do not think so, I could careless. Normal people have no problem seeing this guy was a control freak due to his authority position.

We've come this far into the thread. QLB and others have posted a LOT of stuff where CCW holders justified their possession of concealed weapons for defense. The OP hasn't been able to produce even one more example that demonstrates dubious behavior on the part of a CCW holder. Not a single one.
But there's more. In a recent Gallup poll, it was found that 51% of American adults believe that the solution to armed criminals is more armed Citizens. Oh oh. I don't know how many were "undecided" in this poll, but this indicates that the MAJORITY of voting age U.S. Citizens want CCW, because it's abundantly clear that more guns = less crime. That, dear readers, is the result of an armed society.

I wonder how many of those 763 deserved to be killed. And was this last week, or over a 10 year period of time?

so your solution I suspect is to ban guns? again who cares. we get your anti gun position. I wonder if there are any Americans who spend hours upon hours on say Australian chat boards whining about australian laws and the idiocy of what your government did in response to one nut case

very biased site and to get the numbers they go from 2007 to present, they also include suicide, self defense and accidental. so remove those to and over 8 years it drops down to about 500 or about 62 a year. So with well over 11.1 million ccw holders ( that number is only from states that report how many they have, not every state does and not every state requires a permit http://washington.cbslocal.com/2014...y-permits-surges-as-violent-crime-rate-drops/) it is very rare. So once again you have failed at showing how dangerous ccw holders are

What we really need are background checks for nurses.

    http://listverse.com/2013/09/16/10-serial-killing-nurses/

Obviously nurses are dangerous and should be banned. Think of the children.

Oh look, none of them used guns. At least they were gun-less crimes.

Why remove suicide - I have research paper after research paper that shows guns increase the risk of successful suicide.

This is not about rarity but cost/benefit if it costs more in terms of injury then it should not continue

However I do applaud your debating style - disagree with your conclusions but liked your style

of course not patently. but that's the underlying current of your rather zealous attacks on gun ownership in a country you don't live in

And we had 2 incidents of automatic weapons being used in over 50 years, yet those were banned post 1986.

You gave us 6 examples of why CCW holders are dangerous out of 15 million and growing.

Your examples and reasons are no more preposterous than saying nurses are dangerous people.

Hey v, lets not forget the nurses that were serial killers. You're on to something here. Here's a short list. http://listverse.com/2013/09/16/10-serial-killing-nurses/
BTW why do you think someone from another country would be so concerned about gun control in the US?

Kinda like saying we need back ground checks for homosexuals before each time they have sex. How many people has AIDS killed? Then there was Dahmer?

Nah, the people are the issue. Not the inanimate object they are afraid of.

Yep and those are just the one's they've caught, and some killed hundreds of people each.

I mean medical "errors" kill upwards of a million people a year in this country, depending on what study you read.

Suicides only killed about 40,000 and only half of those decided to use a gun, despite complete and total access to guns.

But a hospital? Hospitals are more dangerous than being shot.
