I am sick of hearing how these morons we send to washington are telling us they are doing everything they can, a lie. The biggest one is the president himself, he has a pin and could enact a ground shaking end to some of the worst guns on the street but he will not. He and other want the crime to continue to fund the cause that will never get resolved.... you are missing the point the point is they say their hands are tied and there is nothing they can do, the 5.56 ammo ban they proposed in 2014 was based on the high sales of assault pistols. I am saying they do not want to ban these guns if they did they could!
First, it's not a "pin". It's a "pen". I don't get it with these "assault pistols". I thought hard about getting a Draco. That's an AK-47 with a short barrel and no butt stock. Reading up on it, I see that most people regard it as very cumbersome, and hard to aim with any accuracy. So I looked at 9mm carbines on the AR platform. The really glaring problem with those is that no-one is making a magazine insert that works right every time, all the time. You maybe could run with the Mech Tech carbine upper, but those things get very spendy, very fast. It makes better sense to stick with an AR carbine, if you're already established with them. Anything in an MP-5 is far from "cheap". Get that malarky outta' your head right now. Let's do look at crime stats regarding these guns you're so excited about. Oh. Dey ain't none. As far as "cheap import" stuff. Right now, I know of two domestic producers of AK's. One is Arsenal, and the other is whoever is providing PSA with their AK's. It's not very difficult. I forget where, but I read a thread by a guy who bought an AK parts kit, and made his own receiver from a shovel. The real myth is more about the lie that gun control is about decreasing crime. Our Gov. is simply NOT addressing that. That's OK. People are not stupid. Ever increasing numbers are insisting that they be allowed to defend themselves. Call up any local instructor in your area, and find out how long you'll have to wait if you want to take a CCW course. I live in Western Massachusetts in the spring, summer and fall and Massachusetts is a very heavily armed state especially in areas like mine. Everyone...and I mean EVERYONE is armed as many people hunt and have a large number of shotguns, rifles, handguns...etc....as well as AR-15's and AK-47's. Because of this we have virtually no crime. Most crime occurs in large cities where the population is not well armed and the people who do tend to be armed are criminals. But in rural areas where I live it is well known you do NOT come into my town with a bad attitude seeking to do some criminal action. Thus the criminals stay away. AboveAlpha

Politicians possess limited power. That is a simple fact on the matter. There is nothing they can do that would yield meaningful results. Prohibiting the legal ownership of firearms does nothing to stop the continued illegal possession and use of firearms. And the proposed prohibition was based on a logical fallacy. The claim was that the M855 round, and only the M855 round, could penetrate body armor when used in a pistol, while all other 5.56 and .223 rounds in existence would fail to achieve the same results, due simply to a microscopic measure of steel incorporated into its construction. This was blatantly false, and rejected for such reasons. Indeed they cannot. They do not have the legal authority to do such.
