Well stated. Looks like more people are 'clinging to guns & religion' than the Democrats realized.

 

That's because in Obama's delusional world, guns cause crime, so when gun crime happens, people should naturally fear the gun and run away from it. In the world of reality, people understand the very basic concept that bad people are the ones who cause gun crime, and naturally look to guns to defend against those people.

 

The White House has people who can definitively figure this kind of thing out if they wanted to know / wanted to admit what is going on.

 

Actually I don't think they do.

 

I am going to side with 10A on this one as I know several people like this and they live in another insulated World of delusion interspersed with megalomaniacal delusions of how to make society 'better' using other people's money. MOD EDIT - Rule 5 "If only those ignorant and racist Conservatives would just let us have our way then we could make the World perfect!!" Right. Seven years of this sort of 'perfect' has run the county right into the ground.

 

It's not hard to figure out. How many terrorist attacks recently? How many mass shootings? Look at this administration's response, blame guns. They don't like to talk about the root causes, a dangerous ideology and mental health. Obama and friends blaming it on guns leaves Americans wondering if they are really doing anything to address the real cause not the symptoms.

This administration derives its power from fear and division, they know what's going on or they are in a deeper state of denial than I previously thought.

 

It take a terrorist to pull the trigger. Since Obama wont even admit that muslim terrorist exist, people must therefore arm themselves for protection.

 

Gun sales are at all time highs however, there may be a caveat - household gun ownership is at all time lows according to data published earlier this year. The percentage of households owning guns have actually declined over the last 40 years to roughly a third of all households, as published earlier this year. What also has declined significantly is homicides committed with a gun - down by almost half (per capita basis) in the last 22 years or so. The rate of suicide by gun is also down, about 8% and the overall death rate by gun - down by 30% or so in the same time frame. As for the higher gun sales, it seems that households already owning gun(s) are adding more weapons to the household armory.

I will be curious to see once the next data set comes available on whether the household percentage of gun ownership has risen in light of the recent past events. For the record, I am a proponent of stricter gun ownership laws, particularly back ground checks for everyone buying a weapon and for banning the sale of certain types of weapons.

One thing I found absolutely fascinating when I was reading the statistics is a possible reason for the decline in death & wounding by guns (and violent crime overall) is the impact of lower alcohol consumption rates AND the greatly reduced exposure to lead - something to think about......

I am flabbergasted shocked that the WH even admits to rising gun sales. Couldn't they have spun it into rising bigotry or rising sense of dread due to Global Warming.

 

Perhaps Hillary, if she wins the election, will end those rising gun sales.

 

Normal people don't run like a chicken with its head cut off to the nearest murder factory to buy WMD in response to gun massacres. Yes, people who live constantly in fear DO cling to guns and religion, because they know they aren't equipped to handle the cold, hard world on their own.

 

So you guys base your reactions on whatever Obama says? Hmmm.

 

Josh Earnest appears too stupid to realize that protection from people with guns is to have people with guns. We can't just wish people wouldn't break laws.

 

Why are you going to "murder factories" and looking for "WMD's"? Maybe you need a visit from a shrink. Just saying.

Well, I've managed without superpowers or guns. It's not that hard. It's called gumption. Self reliance. Intelligence. Courage. All lacking in the chicken littles of this country.

I noticed you or no one else for that matter can explain to me, that consuming alcohol has no other purpose than destroying lives and murdering people, do you have an answer for that since you seem to concern yourself with taking away our constitutional rights? But no one (who has the power to) has threatened to take anyone's guns away. That is a paranoid fear. Once again, it must be stated that the NRA loves gun massacres because it is so easy to manipulate fear into $$$.

 

Answer for what? What was the question? I'm against banning alcohol as well as guns. I've never advocated taking away the right to bear arms. I don't no where you got that from. And no one has advocated that who has the power to do so.

 

It would take a dictator. Maybe you are right. Beware of what you wish for.
