by that logic you must believe God was created by a better God and so on and so on... cause nothing that is could exist without being created right?

Interesting. So a phrase from an old book speaking of God as if he exists is proof that God exists.

By this logic Thor and Zeus and Ishtar also exist. Cool !

You should elaborate on your definition of God in order for one to be able respond logically to this claim.

Obviously if God is defined as "The Universe" (Gaia on a grand scale), then of course your claim that God exists is true by definition.

Claiming that this God created itself is another thing. Claiming that this God existed one day decided to create "Something" = The Universe is yet a different claim yet.

You got a really bad start, for offering up proof, that is anything but proof. Proof isn't like what you posted. For I could pull out the Upanishads or Bhagavad Gita and PROVE that the thousands of Hindu gods exist, and it would be as valid as your so called proof. Nice try, Lao Che, to quote Indiana Jones.

But of course, rational brains understand that the existence of god cannot be proven. And we have a plethora of philosophical arguments that have covered this for a very long time. But one has to be educated in order to be aware of this. And so, many of use are quite mis-educated, and this paradigm is that those that are, can never comprehend that they are, and so are stuck. But that does not cause them to shut up, quite the contrary. In fact, being stuck creates loud and ignorant voices, all too often.

Now, you may think I am an atheist, given what I have said here, but you would be wrong. Instead, I understand that whether god exists or not is in fact UNKNOWABLE. And not being an ego driven arrogant brain, I will make no claims if it exists or does not exist. For I cannot know, and neither can anyone else. But those who lack honestly and integrity will of course claim that they know, both the believer and the non believer. But the intelligence here lies with those who can understand reality, or with people that have the brain that I have. And have some insight into this age old question.

So enough of the foolishness, and fantasy. Yet it never stops, does it? LOL. It seems we are surrounded by fools and village idiots, who in their ego arrogance make claims that can never be substantiated, and so they pull out books written thousands of years ago, thinking that they are not like a book that can just as easily be written today, and have been written, making claims, spinning stories, driven by the fear of losing the ego in death. People, being scared (*)(*)(*)(*)less write books, religious books, so that others can cling to them in hopes that their own egos will live on, once the body dies. Fear creates religion as we know it, and it is so obvious as anyone who points it out should not have to point it out to anyone. If a person can understand his own consciousness, this reveals the truth of the matter. We can then see why man does what he has done, for there is a book inside all of humanity, and a book that few will ever read. But unless you read it, understand it, we will continue on creating fiction, and then believing in our own fiction. It really is absurd, but that is what fear does. If man was never scared of losing his ego, at death, there would have never been a reason to create these gods, and then worship his own creation.

I think your problem with GOD is that to you, GOD represents control over you. Control you reject. Though Most Democrats who opine on GOD love control by Government, whom in my view they see as GODlike. Having the temerity to take our guns for instance and feel great doing so.

I see the Universe as the creation of GOD. It is no shock GOD played a role in creating life.

Do you see life as a self creation?

If this puzzles you, imagine the world with Zero life of any kind. The first creation using your theory self created. I see GOD as playing a role.

When I say God, it is GOD. Not a god, not one of the gods. Same as with gravity. There is one gravity.

There is no FEAR here about GOD.

This is what GOD did for ????? Probably for himself.

    Created the Universe.
    Created life

As to fear, that is up to those who fear.

Imagine prior to the universe; prior to life

    It did not self create.

As I recall Stephen Hawking came up with a concept stipulating GOD exists.

If someone doesn't believe in an idea, then quoting from the owners manual or handbook for that idea wont help. Sorry. That's not proof. You have faith. Thats fine. Those who don't will be critical in the scientific manner. You have to use science for them. Thats reasonable.

    .

I do not accept self creation. Self creation stipulates there is no GOD. That out of nothing, all we know of that exists simply self created. That makes no sense to me at all.

Do you care that at a point, all that you know of was created? I use GOD as the creator.

We should gain by study. What study have you done in reference to GOD? I am not speaking of imposing a personality on GOD such as GOD will punish people.

When you say GOD is a myth, I believe what Democrats mean (if you are no Democrat, state what you are) is that when they don't comprehend something, it becomes myth.

That you don't understand about the Universe, how life was created (the original life) is not a myth yet you don't understand it. Yet by your definition, the creation of the universe and life is some myth as you defined it.

I say GOD for a lack of a superior term to account for creation.

The Higgs Boson has no connection to the question of whether there is a god. That particle has considerable importance in physics, and an attempt to represent that importance led to the unfortunate name.

You have no idea what was (or is) going on outside of our universe. You shouldn't use that lack of knowledge as a reason to believe in some supernatural being.

Whatever your day job is keep it. You have terrible insight and are no good at analyzing people.

I have no problem with God.

God is manmade myth and nothing more. It is silly to have issues with a worknof fiction, at least in the way you imply.

Yes it is clear you believe in God and think he created everything.

That is not an issue here however.

The op made stupid error by presuming to claim there is proof of a god.

There is not and none has been posted.

I see life as existing. We know it evolved over billoons of years. We do not know what caused it to start. The search for what caused life to first generate is actually a big one within science. Someday we might have an answer.

Either way myth including yours does not fit into the answer because it is illogical irrational and not subject to testing or experimentation which is now science work.

Unlike you I am happy and content with reality as it is and need nonpre enlightenment superstition to comfort me

First let me inform you I am very happy. So happy I engage those who show a healthy skepticism over GOD yet won't show that same skepticism over the climate debate by Democrats.

Going back to some point, man did decide that events happened due to god. Such as god of thunder, god of the underworld, god of the oceans, etc. I am not speaking of that sort of god. I am not speaking of some god that makes you be good to get presents at xmas.

The GOD I speak of must have awesome power to create the universe plus life.

No problem with me accepting GOD. Science is curious. But you seem not a bit curious as to the creation of the universe and life itself.

If by supernatural, you mean GOD that created the universe and life, I plead guilty. If by god you mean the god of the underworld, the god of thunder, no ... I don't believe in that god.

One does not need a primitive superstition to be good man is capable of creating and following good morals on his own.

The myth you refer to is the same primitive one people sacrificed goats to.

    You are confusing things badly.

Stating god created is in fact shuttong down curiosity. It provides an answer which cannot be tested.

I prefer a search for the truth rather than simple acceptance of a fairy tale.

The Universe is made of the sum total of matter and energy. Matter and energy can be neither created nor destroyed (Law of Conservation of Matter/Energy). It must therefore have always existed in some form or another.

This is a very interesting question. My own religion teaches that GOD is able to create more GODS. That Jesus is a GOD.

Actually, the law states both are interchangeable. But both were created by GOD. Humans are not able to create either matter nor energy so that part is true.

It seems that way to me as well. But the sole good explanation is GOD has such an ability. We know there is a universe. It is not logical to state it always existed. We know of evidence pointing to a beginning.

I believe you are at a state of mind where you won't learn new things.

I admit that my concept may seem new to posters, but to comprehend it think of the point where there was neither matter, energy nor life.

Put thought into what it could be that created all of this. We know those things exist.

I am not one that believes all we know of always existed.

Evolution is not a very good topic. Abiogenesis is very interesting. May I suggest this book? I read it and will tell you it is very good and a layman can understand it. It is by a professor that teaches this topic at UCLA.
