According to Bernie’s profile and people, Bernie Sanders mother, Dorothy Sanders, died shortly after he graduated high school in June of 1959 at the age of 46 years old. She was active Hillel chairman for the Brooklyn Unity Chapter of B'nai B'rith and passed away at Deborah Heart and Lung Center due to pulmonary problems. From what I understand; after her death, he used the insurance money to transfer to University of Chicago in the fall of 1960. A paint salesman with access to arsenic and a 47 year old mother passing away from cardiac issue followed by the father 2 years later. The sons of the make a profit from the deaths and grow up to both give a false narratives of their mother's death. They both move away from each other and Bernie generally avoids the topic of his parents death. Politically Bernie uses the narritive his mother never saw him go to college though he was in his first year of attendence when she died.
