Hello all I joined yesterday and I am a Christian who came here for the sole purpose of discussion. I am prepared and willing to discuss anything be that politics religion or even why feet smell lol. However something you should know about me is that i discuss things not to prove myself right or prove others wrong I discuss things to find the truth of the matter to learn and grow as both a Christian and a person. If the discussion or debate begins to become a war zone then in my mind that discussion has lost it's value I see no point in senseless arguing and I have no intention of being in a discussion in which our emotions rise and influence what we say and think.
Hey, Blain...Great to meet you. You sound very reasonable and level headed. That said...you'd better change that attitude of your's, buddy, if you hope to fit in around here. j/k Enjoy the forum.
Welcome to the forum Fwiw, imo it would seem a little strange if you entered the forum by introducing yourself as a jew, or a hindu, or an atheist. Would you go to a party and introduce yourself by saying: "hi, my name is brian, and i am a christian?" Just my reaction Ardy
Welcome aboard. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. Not going to lie, you are going to find a lot of frustrating conversations, but push through and keep that level head if you can.
Before the left forced cultural-marxism upon America, politics and religion didn't mix. Today anything is fair game. Islamist fascism is politically correct. Christianity and Judaism is politically incorrect. *******n America is politically correct. America is great is politically incorrect. Gender friendly toilets are politically correct. Urinals are politically incorrect.
welcome to the forum Blain, course the truth you seek may change that from Christians to something new, hope you find what your looking for, all beliefs are welcome here .
Ty everyone for the welcome, I only stated I was Christian so that everyone would know where I stand as a person and I am well prepared for any kind of heated battles or fiery arrows thrown at me I am not new to war among forums. I can handle quite a lot and I see such debates as learning experience and also such discussions like that are a great test to see how long you can go without your emotions controlling you. But if my emotions do begin to rise then I walk away until I am stable again because one cannot have a mature and intelligent discussion if their minds are clouded by anger or negative thoughts and emotions
If the truth I seek is here then I am sure it can be found but as for what that truth is I can assure you it is not merely my faith I am speaking of
That is a good thing Blain...though I have found it a rarity to discuss anything of truth with our local Christians if it involves their faith. It's almost as if they have a switch that gets clicked.
You must be very new here. That happens all the time. The reason is it gives you a greater idea of how they think and how they'll enter discussions. I introduced myself as an atheist here. Also, an anonymous internet forum is not like going to a party. If that's your idea of a party, bruh, I want nothin' to do with it.
And for that I am truly sorry, by both Christians and non Christians I have been told I am a rare sort for more reasons than one. I don't want to just grow as a Christian I want to grow as person and growth can only happen if one is willing to learn and be taught and if I were to swat away anything that might contradict my views or beliefs or how I see things then how can I ever learn? True enough God will always come first in my heart and life but I also have other interests while I am not very smart I have always been fascinated by science especially so when it comes to outer space and I value and treasure logic maturity patience wisdom hard work and the willingness to listen and to learn. However I cannot say this is the heart of a lot of my brethren in fact I found that many have little to non of this, the world sees us Christians as liars hypocrites holier than thou judgemental bible thumpers and as much as it pains me to say they are not wrong in saying this I have seen the hearts of the general Christian and it is not what I wanted to believe was there. i go to a Christian forum and on there you can see the hearts of ppl because everyone tends to speak and show who they truly are what is in the deepest depths of their hearts online because we have the security of being behind a computer screen so in a way being on a forum for me at least is the best way to read a persons heart. I have no intention of putting down or slandering other Christians and I certainly don't see myself any better or higher than them or anyone regardless if they are Christian or non Christian but I do speak the truth even if I know it will bring fiery arrows.
Welcome to the board... ... ya can hidy inna corner w/ possum... ... when things get crazy `round here.
Welcome Blain. I hope you will enjoy your stay. But please bear in mind that this emotional response is what you may typically expect here: I promise to be be nice to you.
LOL no worries my friend this is nothing I am not used to I am not new to war. in all honesty this is mild compared to what I have endured, in the Christian forum I go to there is section called the bible discussion forum however don't let the name fool you that place is known as the war zone the blood arena there are many names of it many Christians will go into heated debates with each other and be horrible towards each other all it takes is a simple different view or understanding of subject and blades cut down names are called mockery is abound and scripture is thrown at each other like weapons. Even christians have called me horrible things have condemned me have done the worst of the worst but if that was not enough people will come to that site specifically to troll one came on there and was very good at it he got a rise out of everyone he got them all angry they called him names they mocked him they did everything they could have done in the book and he loved it he loved seeing how fired up and how angry he could them. But he ended up targeting me because I would not give in to his tricks, I continued to respond in a calm and kind manner I answered his questions as politely and as reasonably as I could and he ended up telling me how he has been trying to get a rise out of me to get me angry to to yell and call names and mock him like everyone else but I just won't take the bait. at least he was honest lol, - - - Updated - - - My purpose is not to fan the flame of war and anger rather to still the waters
Mr truth wrote I believe and yes he was spot on I haven't been here long but the first thread I posted in I saw this but it's ok i have already learned things from these debates and from the people debating and if anyone learns from something I post then that just makes it all the better.
Mr Truth didn't write that, he was making fun of it. It will take awhile for you to figure out who's who here. The liberals will always be wrong .
Welcome......... There is a book written while the writer was in a French prison waiting a likely beheading by a US founding father you might find interesting on the subject of the Bible if you had not as yet come across it. The title is the "Age of Reason" by Thomas Paine and you can download a copy at https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/3743.
