No! And my wife also is part native American. We native Americans have done as much as the law will allow, and those laws are unjust.

Bull excrement. Christians do not. Some who CLAIM to be Christians are not, and do not follow the tenets of Christianity. The same for Islamist terrorists.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Religions are all about love, so I'm pretty darned sure that the Qur'an says "love gays, treat them with respect, and as equals." So you couldn't be more wrong!

Edit: uh, I'm eating some humble pie here as I just looked it up, and the Qur'an says to harm gays - boy do I look dumb trusting in the goodness of religion:
The Qur'an hates gays, it tells its followers about the horrible fate of the people of Lot, the homosexuals from Sodom:
Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people. (7:81)
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals. (7:84)

    Then it says:
If two men among you are guilty of lewdness punish them both. If they repent and amend leave them alone; for Allah is Oft-returning Most Merciful. (4:16)

"So called" Christians are those who CALL themselves Christians and do not follow the tenets of Christ, as are "so called Muslims" who call themselves Muslims and don't follow the tenets of the Koran (which is absolutely against killing innocents.)

OK, I claim to be a Hindu. So does that mean I am?

I'll take you at your word, just as I do those that "claim" to be Christian or Muslim.

No, that would be stupid, as religion itself is not relevant to anything today.

what about Religious authority? I believe we can lower our tax burden by not enforcing purely religious laws.

Claiming to be is not reality for those who do violence, period.

Many if not most of our laws came from religions over the millinea (sp) and have translated into our secular laws. In this case morality is not the issue, it is the rational way to determine secular right and wrong.

Now, I would agree with you about individual congregations who preach their religion over the secular laws.

Gee, and you claim to accept the 1st amendment! Whether you like it or not, those not taxed religions use that money and more to help the needy. It would cost our government more money if we taxed religion.

However, if a church starts to politicize they should be taxed. Religions which only announce their tenets are not political.

I blame the man and those who filled his head with Islamist fanatic propaganda. (Not Islam, because Muslims who follow the tenets of their religion are not doing terrorism.

Your tag is good. There is little intelligence in political maneuvers to cover up who really were voted for office by the people. This past DNC activities prove my point.
